I have never been late in my entire life, but everyone gets late someday. The traffic here in Chicago, Illinois, is so slow that it feels like we have parked for a hundred hours!

School starts at 8:30 a.m. and I arrived at 8:51 a.m. The office will understand, but I highly doubt my teacher is going to listen to me. Our teacher is SO STRICT that, in fact, even the principal is scared of her.

I’ve heard from my best friend, Stacy, that once, when I was absent, our classmate, John, came late, and our teacher humiliated him in front of the entire class. Poor John. I felt so bad the moment Stacy told me about him.

I can’t even imagine what Ms. Strict (our teacher) will do to me.
