Introduction

From Shutter To Story’s Devotional series sprouted from a planting in late-winter and early spring of 2023. It stems from a small business class offered for free to members of my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a twelve-week course that I expressed an interest in that started in January of 2023 as an invitation to those interested in becoming self-reliant and considering starting or nurturing an already existing small business into something more. When I first enrolled, I worked as an employee for the State of Nevada in their Department of Administration in a position titled, Management Analyst III. I had been interviewing for a change and a position grade-level to a Management Analyst IV without much success.
