Peter James Ford, The Unlikely Messenger, is a unique individual with a broad understanding of life from having lived life from many lifestyles. Destiny

Destiny is an interesting phenomenon. The meditation master was once asked whether everything was ‘Destiny’ in our lives, as already predetermined, or was it up to the individual to determine his future.

The meditation master replied: "The crux of the matter is that an individual does have this power to create his future through his thoughts, words, deeds, attitude and motives. These actions will determine and create your future. Now, it also seems that there is a divine providence that intervenes and guides our footsteps and decisions above and beyond our conscious mind’s ability. So, is it God calling the shots or is it us creating our lives? Yes, both are true. Two things can seemingly contradict themselves and both be true. We do determine our future with the thoughts, feelings and attitude that we are entertaining in this moment and also there is a higher intelligence that walks with us helping us make the right decisions.

When I began my recovery from alcoholism and sixties’ drug use I would pray to a God up in the sky to please help me. My prayer was to die sober and sane. Many years later, I realized that the God that I prayed to up in the sky (a seemingly father-type God) was true, but this father type God was My Higher Self. God had become me and all my answers to all my questions laid within me. God the father, the holy spirit, universal consciousness, my own consciousness were all one in the same. This was very empowering and so freeing. No more looking to anyone else or any group for answers. I could sit quietly and have Conscious Communion with God. We truly are a part of universal consciousness. We are one and the same as this power we call God. So, if we are one with God then God’s powers are our powers. This is the greatest creative power in the entire universe and it is our mind using thoughts to create our life and reality.

Have you noticed that people who believe they live in a terrible world find themselves living in a terrible world? While others, living in the same, exact physical world believe it is a great world full of great people, opportunities and happiness, and that is the world they live in. I have repeated these following words for thirty-five years and they have become true for me: There is nothing or no one that opposes me or wishes me any ill will. Knowing the power of words and choosing the most uplifting, successful, happy, positive and loving words about ourselves will transform your life. There is one power, one force in this entire universe, and we control it through the words (thoughts) we choose to speak to ourselves and others.

There can be situations, circumstances and people that just seem to appear in our lives and that can be explained by karma. The ancient ones have taught that in a past life we will make agreements with individuals to play different parts for each other so we can have experiences to free us of our past baggage. Another way to say it is that to burn off our past karma (good or bad actions) we must experience it again, but this time with our actions being done to us. If in a past life I had mistreated someone then I must be mistreated to even the score card to get free of those actions (my past karma.) These agreements with people to meet in a future lifetime to play a part for each other is the process to free ourselves from all karma, good and bad. I believe my sweetheart, CeeCee has come into my life to complete my dream…

It is interesting that it is not only bad past actions (bad karma) but even good action that we need to get free of. If we are full of pride and ego for doing a charitable act or a show of kindness our identification with being the ‘doer of the action’ creates karma we will need to experience. Yes, if you have done good actions, you will come back and enjoy good things coming to you, but the eventual goal is to be free of all karma, good and bad. The trick is, as Arjuna learned from Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, is not to identify as the doer. Like Nike says: Just Do It, leave your ego and identification out of the action. Just know you are like the piece of wire that the electricity runs through. You are not the source, you are just the conduit. The key to freedom is not to let your ego grab on to anything. Examples for me is thinking I am the worst person or occasionally thinking I am something special. The ego (false identification) is relentless in its need to be labeled. The ego in partnership with the conscious (reactive) mind is the source of all problems in our life and in the world. When we have a big ego we take everything personally. Individuals and whole countries start conflicts over taking everything too personal with pride and ego. If you have a big ego you will also be in competition with everything and everyone.

We are able to let go of these puny identifications when we realize the truth of our own being. Actually, we are the most special manifestation possibly as God has become us. God is manifesting as us in this present moment. The consciousness you see in my eyes is the same consciousness I see in your eyes. This consciousness is one and the same and it is The One that most of us call God. When you reach this level, the next time your subtle body (your mind, emotions, ego, and memories) leaves your physical body on its last exhalation you will merge with universal consciousness for eternity and you will return no more to a physical body. You will have completed the process of evolution or God’s game that God set up for God’s own amusement. God really does have a sense of humor.

As, two things can contradict themselves and both be true, you will come to see that this illusionary world and even the spiritual path is full of contradictions, paradoxes, and that everything (even these ancient truths) are all just stories someone made up. If you are locked into believing your perspective of the truth is the one and only true perspective and is the ultimate truth that just shows a ‘big ego’. I know as I was one of the worst becoming self-righteous when I began learning the ‘relatively true teachings’ of the masters.

There is only one ultimate, eternal truth and it cannot be known with words or from a teacher. This eternal truth is an experiential knowing in your own heart. The destination is your own heart. Even without any knowledge of the spiritual path you can reach the greatest heights by turning inward and meditating on your own heart. God will reveal itself to you…

Once again, I sat down to write something and then I wrote two paragraphs of thoughts before getting to the point of this section. This writing in A Flow of Consciousness is a constant surprise for me.

My feelings about ‘Destiny’ are that it is a mystery that keeps unfolding. After my younger wild years I ended up in the 12-step recovery program and I began my journey on the spiritual path to recovery and redemption. That was in March of 1970, at the age of nineteen. It now seems like many lifetimes ago. I turned seventy-three in December of 2023. I will be eternally grateful that the ‘Grace of God’ removed my obsession for alcohol or substitutes and gave me a new life. I was many years in the program before I fully recovered and attained the promises written by the founders, but my day did come. So, it took me many years to grow enough that I was ready for the next level. That is when I was introduced to Siddha Yoga. My life was to be rocketed into a new dimension. I was to learn the power of thought and how to create anything I wanted. I proceeded to create a whole second life with all the great stuff of the physical/material world. I was to meet the perfect female companion at the time, a beautiful country home, a collection of Custom Show and Go Cycles (worth 250 grand), complete success at reversing the aging process, complete success at physical training, and everything that I had ever dreamed of. I continued to improve physically into my late sixties and then maintaining my health into my seventies. They say some people will live many incarnations in a single lifetime. I believe it means that you complete a piece of your purpose and then move into a new world as a competingly new person. That certainly has been true for me. I believe that life, at that time, was my second incarnation in this lifetime. This relationship was to complete its purpose and we parted friends and went on our separate ways. She went to Los Angeles and I went to Miami. In South Florida I began writing my second book three years ago. Since that time I have written nine more books. I believe this was my third incarnation in this lifetime.

I just completed my eleventh book that you are holding in your hands and I am really hoping this flow of stories stops for a while. As, I had written the sweetest woman has come into my life and I feel the beginning of another incarnation for me and her. I feel the best is yet to come. I am so grateful for all that I have been given and that I have experienced. I never would have believed my life would keep unfolding into an even more evolved existence with an even more mystical, fascinating woman. One thing that has never changed for me is the love of a good woman. I feel that my gift of writing and recording everything that has helped me over my seventy-three years is coming back to me as this sweet, Cherokee/Irish beauty.

At twenty-five years old and sober six years in the recovery program I experienced the worst depression of my life. I was crippled emotionally, mentally and physically. It lasted an entire year and near the end of it I just could not stand the mental anguish and severe depressive state and I put a gun to my head. I could not pull the trigger and broke down emotionally and laid on the floor. One of my brothers came in and we went down and walked the beach and not long after I began coming out of this nightmare. I would have missed so much if I had ended my life at that time. It was my destiny to live and to share my tales in my books. Who would have ever thought this was my calling? So, my conclusion about destiny is that it is an unfolding mystery. If you are still breathing you are still in the game of life and miracles can still happen for you in any moment. I encourage anyone struggling to hang in there and not to give up hope.

These are my simple and probably insignificant thoughts about destiny…

This book is dedicated to the sweet, Irish/Cherokee girl called CeeCee…

I had shared with a friend how I gave everything I had into these books, everything I have learned over my seventy-three years about myself, life, the spiritual path, and any and all wisdom and knowledge that I had attained. My friend said, Whatever you give out you will get back, so if you gave your very life’s blood, you would receive an abundance of blessings. At first, I thought the books would be successful and return me great wealth.

I later realize the wonderful blessing that I was to receive was in the form of the sweetest, most evolved, highly spiritual, beautiful woman named CeeCee. By chance, I had seen a rare post of CeeCee on a social media and she captured my heart. She was so mystical, allusive, and so beautiful. We all have our own personal image of that special mate and mine is someone who is very feminine, gentle but strong, very pretty, smart and wise. My mate needs to have self-respect and know she is very special and deserves to be treated like a Princess. CeeCee has all these qualities. I sent her a friend request on social media and months passed before she ever responded. She is very particular about who she connects with.

It took only a few conversations and she had captured my heart and mind. Our connection has unfolded into something so beyond my wildest dreams. We share the same love of nature, animals, spirituality, and a simple uninvolved life, living in peace and harmony.

We are looking at the perfect place in nature, maybe the Great Smoky Mountains, to settle and have the perfect home base and to live out our days…

All dreams are possible and we just need to keep suiting up and showing up to receive…

THE MYSTIC’S SOULMATE

In 1969, Judy Collins wrote a song called SOMEDAY SOON. She sang of a young girl’s love for this rowdy (rough around the edges) cowboy from Southern Colorado. She tells how he was just out of the military service and looking to sow his wild oats. This cowboy followed the wind (with his freedom and independence) and he lived to ride the rodeo. Like many soldiers returning from the military or the war, they were looking to keep that sense of action and brotherhood going. They were looking for their fun and freedom.

Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin in the movie called THE WILD ONE represented the longing for adventure and the good times with riding that so many of us yearned for. Not surprising that this young girl’s parents could not stand him. This girl sings of how this cowboy loves that damn old rodeo as much as he loved her. When we are young and we have that love of being IN THE WIND riding your Harley Chopper, with your brothers, it is so strong that it rivals our love for a woman. There is something so powerful about riding your Harley Chopper down the passing lane, with a wide open throttle, passing cars like they are standing still. It is like telling the world to go fu-k itself with all its rules and laws. It is like no one can touch you. When you ride in a pack, no one tries to stop you, not even the cops. You have the momentum and the power.

Many years ago, I rode through the little town of Ipswich, Massachusetts with the Brothers and it was like time stopped still. Everyone in town just stood and silently watched. It was a powerful feeling. Time passes, many years (fifty-five years) of my being In the Wind, but my love of riding never has left me. But what has happened for me is that the love of a good woman, the one that I have named my ‘Destiny,’ appeared like a mist and has stolen my heart. My sweet Irish/Cherokee girl has captivated me and she has my full attention. My dream has shifted to my life with her in our mountain cabin living in peace and harmony with nature.

I am sincerely grateful for having experienced receiving everything that I ever wanted. The best gift of experiencing I love the life I live, and I live the life I love. I am sincerely grateful for the teachings about the mind and the power of thoughts and feelings, the wisdom of the proper way to breathe, and the knowledge of our true Self. I am grateful for all the wisdom from the ancient Masters to the present-day teachers like Gregg Braden, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and Dr. Bruce Lipton. My great friend, Kay, who has always encouraged me to write and who believed in my writing process. I thank D.R. (Ram) Butler for sharing his endless wisdom and his life of selfless service.

Thanks to Dan Svenconis, a great friend, who showed up and helped me with my past books. Dan, a college professor who is very knowledgeable about writing, told me that I wrote in a very Joycean (James Joyce) style, which is writing in a flow of consciousness. I remembered James Joyce’s name from my younger years at school. I am not sure I deserve that compliment as Joyce is what I consider a real writer, and I am just a humble typist for the ‘Voice’. This unseen voice is the real author/writer behind every book. I am not really sure what is even in these books. One day I will have to read them.

From the time I started my first book until it was published was ten years. In the last three years, I have published nine more books. Now, my tenth book is out next to the first nine books out everywhere. That will make nine books published in three years compared to one book published in ten years. I would call that a miracle and another gift to be grateful for. It is funny how hard it was for me to write in the beginning and now I have found I have a gift for storytelling and the books are just flowing. I don’t think of myself as a writer but calling myself a storyteller fits. I was always good at telling stories about our escapades when we were younger. You have to be able to laugh at yourself and not take yourself too serious.

So on the day that I had the following thought, I smiled to myself. I jokingly have called myself the Irish storyteller of Miami Beach.

So, a very big thanks to all that have enriched my life. And always a big thanks to The One.

Prelude

Simply put, the goal is to be established in love in this present moment. We do need someone and some knowledge to get the ball rolling (an initiation) but there is endless knowledge in the world and attaining it all is not necessary to reach self-realization or enlightenment. Enlightenment is just simply becoming aware of the Great Being that lives within your own heart. Turning inward and meditating on your own heart (the source of all love) in the present moment is meditating on the One or the Self. This is the goal to be established within our own self by recognizing and dwelling on the love that resonates from your own heart. The destination is your own heart. The goal is to be established in Unconditional Love.

From this place we wish everyone the best and in our wishing the best for everyone else we receive the best. Experiencing the love in your own heart and being grateful for all of God’s gifts in this Present Moment is the goal and where true happiness lies. It’s that simple…

I will write a lot about MIND and THOUGHTS in this book as the most important lesson is to understand our own minds and master our thoughts. People’s beliefs, created by their minds, are the cause of all good and all evil in the world. The mind is the source of all. Everything you see, smell, taste and touch was first a ‘thought’ in someone’s mind. Someone had to ‘think’ of a brick before the massive brick buildings were built. Our thoughts (mind) is creating our life with the stories we tell ourselves. So, if everything is just stories, why not tell the best story of our life possible. One of the eye opening realizations for me was that Everything is just stories we make up to justify our actions and existence. Our stories, our opinions and our perceptions in the end are pretty meaningless, but we can use our stories to create a great life while we are here. I was shocked to see that even science was a story. Science is a constantly changing story as more information about the world is understood. Science has a real ‘learning curve’ going on.

DON’T BE A BLIND FOLLOWER

It is becoming common knowledge that advertisers use subliminal messaging on the media. Our subconscious mind hears much more than our conscious mind because it operates on a higher sound decimal. Our subconscious mind sees on a higher level and sees these subliminal messages that they sneak in to program us. Your conscious mind won’t see these images but your subconscious mind will. Our subconscious mind is the place where our beliefs are stored. You operate ‘usually unconsciously’ from your subconscious mind. Until we begin to make conscious choices in the present moment we will operate ninety-five percent of the time from our subconscious programming.

The first seven-years of our life we operate not from our conscious mind but from our subconscious mind which is records of all words/beliefs/opinions from others.

The subconscious mind works solely by suggestion. It is a tape recorder, nothing more and nothing less. And our subconscious mind is directly connected to the universal mind (God). It is like our computer that has a blank hard drive until we put the operating system in it. Our subconscious mind is like a tape recorder blindly being programmed. At that time in our life (first seven years) we have no defense against other’s beliefs and our parents, teachers, religious individuals and friends tell us what to believe. Not only did they teach us what to think but also how to think and much of their words were false teachings. The mainstream media and state run propaganda are doing that right now in the world and in our country. When we sleep at night our conscious mind goes to sleep but our subconscious mind is always awake, 24/7 365 days. Just like when we were children with no defense against what was going into our consciousness through our ears, the same is true when we sleep. If we listen to tapes of wealth, success, health and happiness we can reprogram ourselves for these things. Around seven years old we begin to operate from our conscious mind and can make our own decisions, but we must look at our beliefs and past programming. Then we can start thinking for ourselves. We can become a true individual. Governments and Hollywood will use repetition of their propaganda to train people to accept what they want. I have written about this in other stories as most people don’t even realize that their cherished beliefs are not even theirs. They were programmed into when you were young or through repetition of their false beliefs. Not only in America but in the entire world there is a battle to save individuals freedoms. The greatest battle of our future is not with guns but with beliefs. Who controls the media controls the narrative so be grateful for the rare individuals standing up telling the truth.

The Canadian Professor that was blackballed for calling out his government as becoming a socialist regime is becoming a leader and a hero for freedom in the world. Always practice ‘Eternal Vigilance’ about what you allow into your consciousness. Always take a look at who is saying what and ask yourself if you believe in it. It is a rare individual that walks in total freedom but let that be you. Society does everything to label you. They don’t care what label you tell them (politician, criminal, truck driver, teacher) but you have to be identifiable as something. To ‘Simply Live’ is unacceptable as they can’t control you. Be the rare individual that is really free just be yourself.

I remember Wayne Dyer talking about how he promotes no path, does not belong to any religions, does not belong to any groups, does not follow anyone’s dogma or beliefs. Wayne walked as a solitary man in a world that is trying to label you, categorize you and force you to fall into line like a toy soldier. People don’t care what they label you as, but you have to have a label. On one hand I could be labeled a hundred different things while not being any of them. People hated that I would not play there silly reindeer games. I never found anything to believe in that was eternal and consistently true, other than my own heart. You pay a price for not being labeled in some type of group but I could not live with myself pretending I believed in their foolishness. In prisons you either have to join a group whether the Bikers, of Muslims, or White supremacy groups to survive or you go to solitary confinement. It is almost humorous as these individuals in these groups are all operating from the same big ego for being in completely opposite groups. Someone with a big ego is blind. I would choose solitary confinement and turn inward and forget about everything. I would love the silence and solitude. Well, back to Wayne and I was so impressed with him and I am following in his footsteps.

ETERNAL VIGILANCE about what you allow into your CONSCIOUSNESS!!!

It is so important the company you keep. Words will go into your ears and into your physical body then they will cross the bridge (our nervous system) into your subtle body which is your mind and emotions. In this way we can rejuvenate or heal our minds and bodies or we can poison our minds and bodies through the negative words of others.

So, important the company you keep.

You will take on the lifestyle of the people you are around.

I had watched someone bragging about all their wealth to someone that was struggling to feed their children. The bragger was so self-consumed and self-centered they did not even acknowledge the other person. They just wanted to hear themselves talk. I watched a movie star, who had become a Buddhist speak before a group of firemen, policemen and their families right after 9/11. These individuals had just lost sons, husbands, fathers and family members to terrorists. This movie actor, (stereotype egomaniac) told them they needed to forgive the terrorists and let it go. What a fool! These people were in the grieving process and all the actor could think of was telling everyone about what he had just learned. The audience reacted angrily towards him. The actor turned to his aid and with a smirk said: They don’t get it. No, this Hollywood moron did not get it. I was depressed to see that even on the spiritual path there are many that are as ignorant as the masses. What happens (it is part of the process) is the spiritual teachings uplift us and they go to our heads and we develop a ‘Spiritual Ego’. People (me included) who shift from a big ego about who we knew or what we did to now we are someone with superior knowledge. Ego is ego and mind and ego is the source of all problems. One thing that is the same in men and women is the ego. We see it all through society today and the women are suffering as the men did with these false identities of themselves. It is all part of the process so we can eventually get free.

This is why being conscious in this present moment is so important. This moment is the only time life is actually happening. We can direct our steps in the most powerful way by just being aware and using our intuition to guide us to the best life…

Let me first say that after writing almost 7,000 pages about the greatest teachings and learning about the universal principles I have realized one thing. You could spend a hundred lifetimes studying all the great masters and you would only have a tiny piece of their knowledge. You could spend lifetimes just studying the Jnaneshwar’s Gita: the commentary on the Bhagavad Gita completed by a fifteen-year-old master and barely scratch the surface. So, learning about all the greatest wisdom and gaining knowledge is great but it is not the purpose of a human birth. We do need to read or hear something to inspire or reawaken us but then meditating on the ‘self’ is how we attain mastery. Your time spent would be more beneficial for you to practice the simple spiritual practices of turning inward connecting with your own heart.

This will establish you in your conscious contact with God. That establishment of this realization is what life is all about. You realize the one you have been searching for is alive and well in your own inner awareness. You realize that the one that you are searching for is the one that is looking out through your own eyes. God looks out through your eyes at the world which is God’s creation and God’s body. Our awareness and our consciousness is God. God lives within you, as you. There is only God manifesting as everything and everyone. God is the life force that has animated this entire universe. Go inward and meditate, as what you meditate on you become. Meditating on your inner self (God) will make you realize you are already one with and the same as God. The good news is that you only have to know some basic principles to fulfill your destiny and return to your own heart. Your heart is the destination and realizing that you are already one with God and there is nothing else in this world that matters then you have reached the goal. You have completed the path back to self-realization which is knowing that God is manifesting as you in this moment. What could compare with knowing you are a part of God and that God is all there is. That makes you one with God and you have the powers of God which is to create through thoughts and feelings

God gave us free will. Free will is the choice about what we think next. God is the power behind our thoughts but it is us that decides how we direct the power of God. There is only ‘one power’, ‘one force’, in this entire universe and we control it by how we direct our thoughts. Our thoughts can create great things and our thoughts can create the worst things. There is only one power. Most of us call that power God. The creative power of God flows through us like a river but we decide which course the river will flow. The greatest loving and kind deeds in the world originated from this one power. The worst and most terrible deeds in this world originated from this one power. That is why understanding our own minds and taking responsibility for our actions is so important. This is how we break the cycle of birth and death by ridding ourselves of past karma. We know this cycle as the process of experiencing our karma and freeing ourselves which we then will merge back with universal consciousness for eternity.

The point of this section is to really remind ourselves to be aware of our thoughts and make sure they are kind and loving. Two great questions to ask yourself are, Would you like to have the experience this thought would bring? Would you like this thought to create your life? The truth is that thought is the only creator. Yes, the power behind our thoughts is God but we are responsible for how we direct thoughts as they will create our life. God is simply ‘A Law of Cause and Effect’. Our thoughts are the cause and our life is the effect. It is so important to be aware of what we are thinking. There is no such thing as an idle thought. This creative process set in motion with our thoughts is always working. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes will create our future.

MIND (THOUGHT)

When we see that everything has come from the mind of men and women in the form of their beliefs we will see the true cause of the condition of this world. Everything is a story made up, mostly by men in the past, and people have blindly followed these ‘fantasy stories’ about life. These include Communism, Socialism, Racism, Politics, Religions, Gangs, Cults, to name just a few. There is not a God up in the sky creating all this nonsense in this world. It is the minds of human beings (fueled by the power of God) that is responsible for all good and all bad that ever happened in this world. It is a little shocking when you see there is no truth, justice or reality in what has been created in this world. Everything was first a thought in someone’s mind that this would be a good idea or it was the way things should be. Everything was an opinion, a perspective or a false belief in someone’s mind. Stalin, Hitler, Religious leaders, and Politicians all had their own agendas according to their beliefs. Some of these individuals thought they were divinely inspired but an ‘Unconditionally Loving God’ does not kill in the name of their cause. It is kind of sad when you see how human nature has screwed up this world when it could be such an amazing place that God gave us. The good news is that the worst times are the best times for spiritual growth. The bad times motivative us to look inward for the only place that there is truth and justice. That place is your own heart.

Despite my books being read in ten or twelve countries, that I know of, I would not call myself a writer or an author. It just does not feel like a good fit. I can call myself a Story Teller and I am comfortable with using that term. It fits as I was always telling stories about our wild escapades when we were young on the bikes and in high speed chases. I realized just lately that all my life experiences were being gathered and stored for my books that I began writing many years later.

Story Teller fits me well. I was someone with a vivid imagination and I always had trouble telling the difference between reality and my mind stories. So, I was perfectly fit to be a Story Teller. Whether it is a blessing or curse of not knowing what reality is, it seems to be a common trait amongst many great writers. The funny part about this whole reality thing is that the ancient teachings tell us that the outer world (what we call reality) is an illusion. It is not any more real than the movie we watched last night or the dream we had while we slept. Is a temporary passing show, just as a mist appears for a short time and soon is gone. We watch that with loved ones and people that we know as their lives are over and they have gone like a passing cloud.

The ancients (and me too) believe the real world is the inner world. It is the true story of life and not this silly show of egos chasing fame, fortune and happiness. When you are on your death bed and have millions of dollars and numerous homes but have not connected with your own heart, it will be very scary. You will feel you face death alone. It is not true, but you will believe and feel you are alone. If you had put your attention on turning inward and meditated on the being that lives within you, you would be fearless when your physical body falls away. You will be excited to know you are going home. You already have merged and are one with the ONE and the only death is the falling away of the physical body.

While we are here we can enjoy the pleasures of the flesh, as Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman had described in her movie with Chris Pine. The trick is to just enjoy what comes freely and do not get attached or identify with being the doer or the owner. People, places and things are not yours and will leave sooner or later, so just enjoy and do not identify with them. Just as, Kahlil Gibran, the Prophet, had said, your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughter of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you. And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. We are just the caretakers of God’s stuff. That is how I felt like the caretaker of the massive home and property that Barbara and I shared along with our collections of Show and Go Custom Cycles. Freedom is letting everything go and not holding on to anything, even life itself.

The real purpose of our life is just to reawaken or realize that we are children of God. Out of God everything and everyone comes and they exist for a while (for God’s amusement) and then God draws everyone and everything back into itself. So, it never was really your life, it was God’s life expressing as you. This is a radically different way to look at yourself and life but if you can adopt this perspective it will free you beyond anything you have ever known. There will not be anything to worry about. There will be nothing or no one to fear. You will know your life is in God’s hands…

When I learned the Eastern Philosophies about life, I felt so much better. The outer world is the false world of illusion and the real world is within your own heart and mind. The outer world is just a mirror. The outer world will mirror back whatever belief of life you have. That is why we can live in peace and harmony, like in the eye of a hurricane, while the outer world spins out of control. In our little world everything will be alright, there will be nothing wrong and there will never have been anything wrong. That is a mantra/affirmation I have said so many times that it is impressed in my subconscious mind and just plays all the time on its own…

This world is going too fast and with Artificial Intelligence and technological breakthroughs we will not even recognize the world anymore. The scientists wanted to see if they could create a language to communicate with the A.I. What happened is very scary and makes the science fiction movies of the machines taking over a reality. What the scientists found was that the A.I. developed a language that only the other A.I. could understand. They are already outsmarting us. But there is always a way and that is returning to the simple and uninvolved life that the ancient ones have always taught. It will be interesting to be in peace when the world has many wars going on and many on the verge of breaking out. To be able to sit completely content when at any moment the end of the world with a nuclear war could happen is such a gift. I believe that nothing happens in God’s world that God does not allow. So, if the world ends, then it ends. It was fun while it lasted. I am grateful for my heart and mind opening and having enough grey matter to absorb the simple teachings of the path to peace and freedom.

My latest writings in this new book called MYSTIC will be a continuation of my journey that began so many years ago. I have lived many lifestyles and played many roles and have thankfully burned off most, if not all, of my bad karma. I am grateful to live my simple life in peace. When you read my writings try to find something that resonates with your heart and just disregard the rest. I am not concerned with writing perfect textbooks, but to write uplifting, interesting, fun books that draw people in. Many people have a look on their face that shows they just could not process all these different themes from my different school of thought. It’s all in good fun and I hope you enjoy reading my tales. If you can focus on the intent of my writings which is to share teachings and my books are not written to be perfect literary pieces or for me to become something.

Wishing You and Yours the Best…

Foreword

You know the expression that the joke was on me or that I am always the last one to realize something about myself. Well, once again, the joke is on me. I had lived under the radar in the way a criminal would live. I don’t consider myself a criminal (despite others thinking that) but it was just the way I was raised in the ‘City of Sin’, Lynn, Massachusetts. I never let anyone know my true feelings. I never talked about anything. I lived a life in secrecy. So, when these stories started flowing out of me, I was a little surprised with the honesty and openness I was experiencing. I credit the opening of my heart and mind to a rare, authentic Kundalini Master, who had awoken me from my sleep walking in this life. My first book MYSTICISM IN NEWBURYPORT tells the story of my powerful spiritual experiences. I had almost finished the first book and I tore it up. I did not want to share my personal struggles with the world. A few days later the pain in my heart would be unbearable and it would not stop until I began writing again. Once again, I almost finished and tore it up again. In a few days the heart pain began, so I returned to writing my first book of tales. I tore the book up three times before I finally surrendered and accepted that this was my purpose, for some reason I did not know.

For the last thirty-five years (It might be forty years?) I have devoted myself to learning, reading, studying and practicing every spiritual tool I could find. The end result of all this study after writing my first book is that I have written another ten books in the last three years. Many of these books are over 900 pages and overflowing with teachings from every authentic spiritual path. On one hand from reading and studying I probably did acquire some wisdom and on the other hand I found my path brought me full circle. That place that my path brought me to was to practice the ancient teaching of ‘No Mind’ to meditate with a certain technique to bring me to a ‘Thought Free State’. It was to go beyond my conscious mind and just dwell in universal consciousness. "No Thoughts just Simply Being, with full awareness in the present moment."

The highest form of meditation is the ‘Thought Free State’. Most people have tasted this peace but we do the spiritual practices to be fully established in that state all the time. That is enlightenment… Everything is available to us right now and what we can absorb depends on our capacity to hold the energy. Meditation expands our ability to hold and take in even more of this divine energy. That is where the practices (or you could call it the work) comes in.

Not thinking or doing but just knowing and experiencing that I am already everything and everyone. In this state there is nothing to attain, nothing to become, nowhere to go, as you know you are already everything. You will experience (an experiential knowing) without words that God has manifested as you in this moment. You will realize that your life is really God’s life.

We live as ‘nobody special’ while being ‘the most special creation of God possible’. That unique creation called you is one and the same as God. When we live as Mr. or Mrs. Nobody we can walk free in this world. Once you become ‘someone special’ people will either attack you or want something from you. When we allow our egos to identify ourselves with being something in this world the price we pay is loss of our peace of mind. Have you noticed how one week the media puts someone up on a pedestal and praises them and then before you know it they are making money saying the worst things about you? That is the price of worldly fame which in the long run is meaningless. Do you think they will remember you when most people don’t even know of the great ones like Plato, DaVinci, Aristotle, Hermes, Lao Tzu, Confucius, Buddha? Many younger people don’t even know who Abraham Lincoln was. Many of the schools in our country have none of the students passing reading or mathematics and know nothing of the ones that molded our world.

We are all just playing a part, like a role in a movie, for God’s purpose. I love that my role in this life is to just be myself. The goal and purpose of this life is to realize that you are already one with God. The purpose of this life is to realize your own self as God.

Enlightenment or Self-Realization simply means you ‘Realize your own inner Self’ that life force (which is God) is what enlivens your very being. It is like the sun is always there but sometimes clouds block the sun. Our inner self (God) is always present or we would be dead. For the human beings our false identifications are like the clouds blocking the sun. Our identifications like I am a Biker or Trucker or Writer are only temporary images of ourselves. Chronos, the God of Time, whose number was ‘seven’ had said that anything temporary is not wholly real. I retired from the Teamsters Union and I am not a truck driver anymore. One day I will not be able to ride a motorcycle anymore and that identity will not be true anymore. I don’t want to invest in temporary stuff. I focus on the part of me that is eternal. That part of me is what they call ‘The Self’ in yoga or ‘The Eternal Soul’ in Christianity.

When we let go of our false identities it is like the clouds clear away and we experience our own awareness/consciousness and know that it is God manifesting as us in this moment.

Well, the point of this section is that all my studying and reading about spiritual stuff giving me a measure of wisdom is all good but now it is time for me to forget everything I think I know.

The highest form of meditation is not seeing visions or predicting the future (which is so easy for me) but it is ‘The Thought Free State.’ That thought free state is where God dwells. God speaks in the silence. Silence is the language of God. That is where true peace lies for the individual. The spiritual path and life are really so simple. We need to just see what is right in front of us and to just flow with the powerful river of life.

So, with the completion of this book I am returning to my simple and uninvolved life spending time in nature, silence, solitude, reflection, contemplation and meditation. I have come full circle and living in gratitude for another day in this body.

Just being here calls for a celebration. Everything will be here when your time comes so there is no time limit and no worries. So, just follow your heart which will always lead you home. Wishing you and yours the best…

Preface

The purpose of this book is the same as all my other books which is to share teachings that have changed my life and freed me from countless human issues. It is also to share my experiences on this amazing journey from ‘knuckle dragger’ to someone that has realized his divinity. Through ‘Grace’ I have had and live the experience of God in every moment. I always appreciated when someone that had traveled ahead of me shared the best methods to achieve success and to point out what would be a waste of my time. So, in my own way, I try to share what has worked for me for this journey back to my heart.

There may be rare individuals that awaken on their own but most of us need a little help to awaken in this lifetime. A teacher or some words of wisdom that just sparks that dormant power within us to reemerge. When I was eighteen years old involved in heavy alcohol consumption, sixties drug use, violence, crime and lots of pain, I was to have a powerful reawakening. I should have been staying out of trouble at this time as I had Conspiracy and Narcotics charges over my head and a suspended sentence out at Deer Isle in Boston Harbor which was full of people who hated anyone from Lynn, Massachusetts.

I was suffering from alcoholism and my decisions meant nothing as alcohol called the shots. I had loved the lifestyle of the bikers who just took what they wanted and anyone that got in their way got a beating but I hated being locked up. After being locked up in a Boston Jail, known as ‘The Tombs’ I made a conscious decision not to live a lifestyle that would get me locked up. My decisions at that time meant nothing, as I had said, alcohol called the shots. I also was on probation for a year, and in that year I had three highspeed chases, including running a road block and having my muscle car shot up by the police from two towns, plus numerous actions that would have put me away for a long time.

This particular night I was with a friend, who was a golden gloves fighter, and also had a bad drug problem. I had drank a quart and a half of tequila and numerous drugs and I was barely standing and it then was about three o’clock in the morning. My friend said to me that he had begun reading a book and it talked of being in a powerful river and going with the flow. In an instant, I sobered up completely and I had a vision of a black book with a big red circle in the middle. Somehow, I knew what my friend was talking about. I believe I was remembering spiritual practices from past lives. In a few moments I collapsed and passed out. I forgot all about that night until thirty years later when I began writing my first book. I searched for this book (This image that I saw) and I was to find it. It was The Tibetan Book of the Dead. Carl Jung loved this book, too.

I was one that needed help getting focused on the path back to my heart and I began reading everything I could for the past thirty-five years. I studied daily and practiced countless techniques to improve my conscious contact with God. I read daily for all those years a correspondence course from an ancient lineage of authentic masters.

The surprising thing is that you start to see all the contradictions, and paradoxes all through the physical world and life. The startling thing for me was to see these ‘seeming’ contradictions and paradoxes even on the spiritual path and in the highest spiritual teachings. Just as I saw everything was a story made up by a person regarding life and the world, it was true with even the most spiritual, authentic paths. I was to see there was some truth in both sides of an issue or belief. One time I was sitting with a friend on each side of me down by the river. The friend on the right of me said about a person we knew that he was a very generous, considerate, helpful person. The friend on the other side said he only gave money to people so they liked him and to fill his ego. They both looked at me and I said: You both are right. I really was surprised and relieved to see that there is ‘some truth’ in everything. That both sides of an issue has ‘some’ validity. Sometimes when I write about a universal truth I also remember the complete opposite also was true. Then to make matters worse, the teaching that everyone’s opinion is equal to everyone else’s opinion was a hard pill to swallow. That everyone’s perspective is equal to everyone else’s perspective seemed absurd. The lesson for me was that I had to realize that there is more going on than my limited conscious mind and five senses can process. Yoga forces you (gently) to have to go past your conscious mind into the realm of ‘Buddhi’ a higher intellect that holds all concepts and all knowledge.

One yogic teaching said that if you leave everything in God’s hands that everything will be taken care of. Then in the next lesson it says you are completely responsible for yourself. The thoughts you choose will determine your life. Your destiny lies completely in your hands. This one drove me crazy for ten years until I realized they are both true. So, I think the best thoughts of health, abundance, prosperity, success and wealth in all areas of life and then I leave my life in God’s hands to fill in the details. I do both things which seemed to contradict themselves. Two things can ‘seemingly’ contradict themselves and both be true.

I love to say, Welcome to Yoga The Land of Paradoxes and Contradictions. When you can just forget everything you thought you knew for you have entered a much higher realm. This realm is a place of ‘No Good or Bad’ ‘No Right or Wrong’ ‘No Black or White’ ‘A land of No Shoulds or Have To’s’ ‘No Judgements’ ‘No Labeling’ just ‘SIMPLY BEING’. This is the true ‘Heaven on Earth’.

The good news is when you can accept these words it will free you of other peoples’ opinions and even free you of your own opinions. Why bother having an opinion when it has no more meaning than anyone else’s opinion. This new way of thinking freed me and my relinquishing my need to defend my point of view released huge amounts of energy that had been wasted. Just know ‘The World is just what it is’. Everything ‘Is just what it is’ no need to judge it, label it, criticize it, or have an opinion. Let the world spin out of control without you.

When I refuse to play the game (by having no opinions) I am free of the world.

When I accept and respect the world as it is, the world will accept and respect me as I am. Sounds like a fair deal. In truth, I just wanted to feel good and to be at peace and these teachings did this for me. I will freely admit they were the hardest to swallow as on the physical level there is a lot of ‘seemingly’ wrong but I came to terms with that by helping people in my little world
