According to a 2012 survey by the McKinsey Global Institute, people looked at their inboxes 74 times a day on average and dealt with emails for nearly one-third of their working days. An additional study conducted in 2012 revealed that office workers who did not have access to email changed windows eighteen times in an hour, as opposed to thirty-six times in an hour.
