    Introduction

In my early twenties, I embarked on a personal journey of leadership growth and development. And encountering leadership experts like John C. Maxwell and others has set me on a unique path of leadership growth. And during those early years of personal development, I had a strong desire to write a book on leadership, but I also recognized that I was still green and unripe spiritual tomato. But, twenty years later, this book project that took more than two years to complete has finally come to fruition.

When it comes to leadership, especially Christian leadership, we can easily confuse it with church leaders or those involved in ministry, or we can even take leadership out of context by believing that it has nothing to do with the Bible or the body of Christ as a whole. This is far from the case, and a careful examination of the living Word of God reveals a plethora of leaders and leadership principles. And, without a doubt, Jesus was the greatest leader who ever walked on earth.

Let's take a closer look at how the Dictionary and Thesaurus define the words leader and leadership to fully grasp the true meaning of what leadership is or what the word leader means: a person who guides or directs a group; authority, counselor, direction, influence, lion, and shepherd

Did you grasp the deeper meaning of who a leader is or what characteristics that leadership possesses, my friend? A leader is someone who provides guidance and direction to others. A leader is someone who acts as a counselor and shepherd to others, and who has influence like a lion. And a leader is someone who serves, in other words, someone who is a servant to others. This is unquestionably a definition of discipleship. Those who are seasoned in their faith, guide others in their spiritual journey with the Lord. Again, leadership is a biblical concept, not a secular one.

Much emphasis has been placed throughout Christianity and continues to be placed today, on how to become a true disciple of Jesus and on discipleship, as it should be, but being a disciple of Christ means that you must lead like Jesus and influence like Jesus. And raising disciples entails raising kingdom leaders as well. And I'd love to show you from a different perspective what we call the Great Commission that Jesus spoke of before He ascended into heaven.   Let's take a closer look at these two Bible verses separately:

And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.²

    And…

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.³

The preceding Bible verses are action-oriented and contain a command. Let us go over some of the above biblical words again:

Go – This implies taking action. Don't stand around waiting for someone.

Make Disciples – Develop kingdom leaders. Equip, train, coach, and mentor those who genuinely want to make a difference.

All Nations – As you develop new kingdom leaders, send them out into their schools, jobs, neighborhoods, cities, and society to preach the kingdom message.

All The World – Facilitate others in discovering their kingdom identity and purpose, so they can make a global impact through their calling and assignment.

Going into the world and making disciples is to raise kingdom leaders who will bring a kingdom culture into their sphere of influence. But before you and I can raise kingdom leaders, we must first become kingdom leaders who understand their identity in Christ and through Christ. This will require, commitment, faith, excellence, discipline, prayer, obedience, vision, influence, servanthood, personal and spiritual growth, and sacrifice.

Here are a few insights for you to consider as it relates to kingdom leadership: The day you stop growing personally or spiritually should be the day you stop leading others. Every leader, like any plant, requires time and the right nutrients to reach their full potential. It is not an overnight growth process. Standing still will not transform the world or society, you must take action steps to be a true kingdom leader. Finally, a true leader will diminish themselves in order for those around them to increase in value and worth.

Without a doubt, Jesus is and will always be the standard role model for what true kingdom leadership should be. No human being in history has ever demonstrated such powerful leadership capabilities as Jesus. Jesus' leadership was so powerful and profound that it can still be seen today. And it is for this reason that every child of God, especially those who aspire to be true kingdom leaders, must come into full alignment, submission, and surrender to Jesus' leadership and allow Him to disciple, coach, and mentor you every step of the way.

And as you venture through these 52 Laws of Kingdom Leadership, keep this final thought in mind: True kingdom leaders are driven by anger; anger is the byproduct of passion; and passion is the desire to bring change. I pray, my friend, that you, as a kingdom leader, will bring about the much-needed change in your family, local church, workplace or business, city, and society as a whole.

The ultimate goal of biblical leadership is not to maintain followers, but to produce kingdom leaders.

    Kingdom Leaders

Leaders will always come in a variety of shapes, sizes, personality traits, attitudes, and backgrounds. And the hope for us all is that God is not picky or strictly selective in who He chooses, and as we read through the Bible, we come across so many unqualified individuals whom the Lord still used in a powerful way, which should give us much hope because God does not use perfect human beings, but chosen ones. Here is a thought-provoking summary of some of the biblical figures whom God chose to use for His greater good:

    Moses killed a man.

    Peter denied Christ three times.

    Sarah was old and barren.

Saul (Apostle Paul) was a zealot who was a murderer and persecuted the early Christians.

Jonah ran away from his God-given assignment.

King David took another man’s wife as he intentionally had him killed on the battlefield.

    Thomas doubted Jesus.

Abraham wanted to help out God by impregnating his maid.

    Jacob was a liar.

Elijah forsook his ministry and hid out of fear in a cave.

    Rahab was a prostitute.

    King Solomon was a womanizer.

Gideon gave God too many excuses.

Jeremiah told God that he was too young.

So, what is your justification for not allowing God to use you for His kingdom's purpose? I'm grateful that the living Word of God can give us much hope and assurance that the good Lord will use anyone who genuinely desires to fulfill God's will in their life. However, it is often the mental strongholds and battles that prevent us from walking out and fulfilling God's perfect will for our lives, and this is also true for becoming a kingdom leader. Remember that your mind is like a womb, and whatever seed you sow into it determines what you will produce in your life.

Furthermore, one common leadership catastrophe in many local churches occurs when a sheep tries to lead a pack of lions. This is frequently due to individuals who are not qualified or were not properly trained, or who have a personal agenda of gaining power or influence over others. However, kingdom leaders must remember that it is never about you, your gift, your potential, or your skills and abilities; it is about using your kingdom gift to serve others. Furthermore, kingdom leadership is not about cloning others in your own image, but rather about aiding others in discovering their own personal identity and purpose.

True kingdom leaders never graduate from the school of personal growth and development, but remain students (disciples) until the day they die. And true kingdom leadership is the development of leaders who will eventually surpass you. This is the heartbeat of kingdom leadership, and if you want to be that credible, genuine, and influential leader, then posture your heart, mind, spirit man, and body to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, the Leader of all leaders and the Influencer of all influences. And as you journey through The 52 Laws of Kingdom Leadership, you will learn powerful and valuable life lessons from a variety of biblical individuals who will challenge you, counsel you, critique you, and guide you every step of the way, and you will become the kingdom leader that your heavenly Father desires.

Being born again automatically makes you a Christian, but knowing your identity in Christ will make you a kingdom leader.

Adam And The Law of Creativity

Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.

    -Edward de Bono

    A

dam not only had the honor of being the first human being created, but he also had a few other advantages that God bestowed upon him. One of those abilities is what I refer to as The Law of Creativity. Throughout my many years as a Christian, I have never heard a sermon or any teaching that attributed to Adam's creativity. This was a powerful revelation that I received in my early years as a believer, and as God commanded Adam to name all the animals, He stood back and simply watched Adam's creativity come to life.¹ This is why Adam is the best person to learn about The Law
