    Introduction

God tells us to be bold and courageous. Repeating this many times in His scripture encouraging different leaders to step out into the purpose of His calling.

While it takes an unprecedented boldness to follow Christ, we know that not everyone believes they have the courage to walk away from the familiar and into the unknown. Not everyone is steered in a direction that encourages the Champion in them to rise to the top. Many have experienced pain, tragedy, and trauma that has knocked the wind out of their sails, causing them to back down from their intended purpose.

In these unforeseen incidents, there is purpose. Deep down inside you, there is a longing, a hidden desire to BE more and to DO more. There is an AUDACITY within you to go against all the odds, that you may obtain the prize of the upward call.

The Apostle Paul knew this when he chose to forget the things that are behind and reach forward to that which is ahead when he stated "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14)

God told Abram to leave his family and all that was familiar to him, and through his obedience and courage, he walked into his destiny. (Genesis 12:1) The LORD had said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people, and your father's household to the land I will show you.

It takes courage to leave behind all that is familiar to go to an unknown place that God is yet to tell you. But as we read through the scriptures, God reminds us that we are not alone, He is with us in this journey, and those words should be the fuel that keeps the fire burning as you step out in boldness.

God wants you to be bold and courageous in your Christian walk and your everyday life. He wants you to leave the past behind to pursue your destiny with an unprecedented AUDACITY, TO BE WHO HE CALLED YOU TO BE!

(Luke 9:23) And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

(Joshua 1:9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged; for the LORD, your God will be with you wherever you go."

(Deuteronomy 31:6) Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD, your God, is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

(1 Chronicles 28:20) David said to Solomon, his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

These scriptures tell us there is something we must do if we are going to fulfill our destiny, and that is to deny ourselves. He encourages us that we are not in this alone, as He is with us wherever we go to help us carry out the vision He has given us.

I say to you, Be encouraged, go forth and do the work for which you have been called, the Lord your God is with you.

    CHAPTER 1

    The Heart of The Matter

(Understanding the Whole Man: Spirit, Soul and Body)

When God created man and placed him on earth, He endowed him with the most perfect, efficient, and well-constructed machine that will ever exist-the body. He created us beautifully and fearfully with everything needed to carry out the purpose for our being, and He created us with the ability to perform at our very best.

Whether purchasing a new washing machine, sewing machine, car, or microwave, we carry high expectations concerning the functionality. Having obtained this for a specific purpose, with the correct care and supervision, it should function without any problem.

As with any machine, as it ages, it will eventually experience general wear and tear.  Deterioration is not always outwardly visible in the body, as it generally affects the mechanics or internal parts – known as the brain.

The brain relays messages to the machine, allowing it to perform accordingly. If a problem arises, the brain will transmit a signal that something is wrong. As the machine now shows signs of malfunction, the first thing we do is call the manufacturer, the maker, because if anyone knew how to correct the problem, it would be the one who designed the machine, the one who knows the machine inside and out.

These machines are also susceptible to damage due to human error, as if we don't know the purpose of the item, we may misuse it.

Let's take an automobile; for example, if we put oil into the gas tank, the car will be damaged and will need significant repairs to restore it to its original intent. Although the automobile is built with separate containers to hold both the oil and the gas, these containers serve different purposes and should not be alternated. The gas is not made for the oil receptor, nor the oil made for the gas tank.

A microwave is not designed to perform as a refrigerator, as storing food in the microwave is not an option due to it not having cooling qualities to preserve the food. And likewise, you cannot place a meal in the refrigerator with the expectation of having a hot meal ready for consumption because its purpose is to cool and not heat.

I said all this to convey the message that our body is in many ways like a store-bought machine. However, the body is built to function a certain way, and any misuse can cause repercussions or unintended consequences as to how it will perform. Our body is not made for everything, and everything is not made for our body.

We, as living beings, will also experience many disruptions in life that can hinder us from fulfilling our purpose and destiny if we don't take the proper care. Care should not just be in part, but in the whole sum, our Spirit, Soul, and Body.

The objective of this chapter is to give insight into the function of the whole man and what causes malfunction in this beautifully designed piece of machinery.

My prayer is that this first chapter will minister to you in a way that will allow your eyes to be enlightened while encouraging you to open your heart to receive the healing that this book, along with God's word, is designed to accomplish.

    We Are Spirit Beings

We are a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body.

Then God said let Us make man in our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:26-27 NASB)

As God is Spirit, so are we, as we were made in His image. We have been taught for many years that we are a tri-part being, but scripture clearly states that we are made in the image of God, which is ALL Spirit. Once again, we are spirit just like God, and we have a soul which is encompassed by a body.

As we can see in the scripture above that man is made in God's image and likeness.

These words speak volumes as to who we are and what our role is here in the earth. Not only are we made in His image and His likeness, but He has given us dominion over the earth to rule and to reign just like Him.

(And let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.") Before getting into the purpose of our being, let's talk about the meaning of being MADE IN HIS IMAGE AND HIS LIKENESS. When we read this scripture, usually the first thing that comes to mind is that we look like Jesus, as we consider only the physical sense and stop right there. (I, myself have done just this in the past), and yes, we are indeed created to look just like our Father, the
