    Introduction

I’m writing this book to try and help stroke victims’ families or caregivers get some idea of what is going on with their loved one who has had a stroke. Usually, when things go south, we are not prepared for what is to come, and in times like these, we lose the grip on ourselves. When we are hit with the word stroke, we have no idea of what lies ahead or what is next. We don’t even know what is the word ‘stroke’ besides the apparent interpretation that it indicates the patient is now partly disabled. With the word come many questions: will the patient ever stand up again? Will the patient recover? How long will it take to recover, and whether the recovery will be complete or partial?

It is not like having a broken arm with a cast put on, waiting for six weeks, and getting it taken off. It’s also unlike a regular injury where one can rest and recover. What we don’t realize until it happens to us is that stroke is a lot different, and all strokes are different; no two are the same. Some are simple; by that, I mean the patient gets some medication and gets to go home and fully recover. Others are so severe that the patient will not recover and will pass away. The middle ground is the patient will be disabled and have months of rehab, and maybe they can regain some or all of the functions they’re working on.

The thing is, you have to have willpower and faith in God almighty and His plan. He will find a way out for you if you persist in your faith in him. Believe in God and how He works; there is always a plan or a roadmap for you to reach your destiny. What you have to do on your part is simple: always pray for yourself and your loved ones. Through your prayers and firm faith, He will bestow His blessings upon you. It is His Will that your loved one will recover and be whole again. I pray that each and every one of you who read this book will share this information with someone in need and work with someone who needs your guidance, direction, and support, in God’s name.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
