Leadership How To Influence, Inspire And Impact As A Leader - SHAKRUDDIN KHAN

    Introduction

Hi everybody.  and welcome to the Advanced Ideas chapter of Leadership Transformation. Now the first thing I want you to understand is that this is NOT your typical Leadership chapter. You can get that anywhere. But you will not get this set of skills anywhere else! These were specifically collected by me over a 30 plus year period of being in business, being in leadership positions, studying, researching, taking the best of the best from multiple sources inside the business field and outside the business field to give you the absolute best tools strategies and techniques to literally transform the way you perform as a leader! So Leadership Transformation. Why did I choose this title? And I want to point out the keyword Transformation." That's why I picked this title.

Here's why. Let me give you kind of a clinical definition of what leadership transformation is. In an organizational context a process of profound and radical change that orients an organization in a new direction and takes it in an entirely different level of effectiveness. Unlike the turnaround (which implies incremental progress on the same plane) Transformation implies a basic change of character with little or no resemblance with the past configuration or structure. What does that mean? This is like the caterpillar becoming a butterfly. There is no connection there. It's a radical transformation. They do not look the same in any way shape or form. Why? Because they have been transformed.

Transformations are always radical. If you use the tools, strategies and techniques that I'm teaching you here, you won't see a small incremental change in your leadership skills. You will see your leadership style literally transform and your results, your profits, your benefits will also go through an amazing growth and transformation. Okay everybody, let's jump to the exciting part of the chapter. You're about to discover. 1) Basic through advanced leadership skills 2) How to deal with staff issues fast and effectively. 3) How to eliminate old lies and misconceptions about leading and leadership 4) Gain new empowering and effective values and beliefs.

    5) Gain powerful new skills to help you and your team excel. 6) Improve your relationships with your staff. 7) Learn how to get the most out of your team. 8) The secrets of how real leaders succeed, not how they tell you they succeed. How they actually do it. 9) How to rise above the ordinary leader. I want you to be an extraordinary leader! So who am I and how can I help you? Well my name is  Cline and I've been on a mission for the last thirty five plus years to help people like you excel in business and in life. I want to help you have the rich and full life that you deserve and to be able to achieve your goals.

I love the fact that you're in a leadership position, because not only can I train you how to be a better leader through this chapter, I can help you help other people become massively successful as well. And as a personal coach, as a trainer, as a consultant, as an educator, that excites me. So let's jump right in. Now one of the questions you should always answer in any chapter is Why should I listen to you? Well, I'm a pretty sharp guy. I've got four different degrees, business degrees, psychology degrees, all the way through to a doctorate. I'm CEO of Advanced Ideas, Inc.

We've trained over 50,000 people and that's just in the last six months. I've been a corporate trainer for many many years. I've run several multimillion dollar corporations, both out in the business world and in the mental health field. I'm a psychotherapist. I was a licensed drug and alcohol counselor in New Hampshire and a licensed mental health counselor. I'm a university professor at multiple universities. I've won multiple teaching awards. I'm a six-figure Internet marketer. Obviously I help a lot of people. So I proportionately make a lot of money doing these chapter chapters and helping people take their careers, their lives, up to the next level.

I've read over 500 books in the areas of psychology, business, health, that's above and beyond the ones that I read for my education. And a minimum of an extra 6000 hours of additional chapter on my own. chapter. seminars, events, mentoring, one-on-one, mastermind groups. Everything you can think of for an additional chapter, to bring you the finest tools, strategies and techniques. So, I want you to know that I have the exact same goal that you do. And that's to help you grow and to remove barriers that have held you back and to teach you new cutting edge skills that will give you an unfair advantage in business and in life.

I think one of the great things about this chapter is that some of the skills that you learn for your workaday life will also help you in other areas of your life, especially in the home. So that's wonderful. If you follow and practice what I teach in this chapter, you will excel. Now, my goal is to be a mentor to you. What's a mentor? Well a mentor is a good friend. Another definition is A wise guide to make your path easier. I'm the person that puts all the information together for you. Spends all the years of the chapter, condenses it down to a few hours and hands it to you. That's a wise guide. That's a good mentor. That is a good friend. That's the relationship I want you and I to have. So this is your first tip: Make sure during this chapter you're taking good notes.

Why? It captures the knowledge. Then, with that knowledge, I want you to use that as kind of your marching orders to take massive action. So the quote is Without knowledge, action is useless. Second part of the quote is Without action, knowledge is futile. So what are we talking about here? Well, if you don't have the right knowledge, the right tools, strategies and techniques ... You'll go out there and you take massive action and all you're going to do is screw up at a high rate of speed. That's horrible! So make sure you have the right knowledge, the right tools. That's step one. Step Two ... second part.

Without action, knowledge is futile. Remember the old quote Knowledge is power? That's actually HALF the quote. The second half of the quote is Knowledge is power ... When you apply it! You have to take massive action on good information. We're gonna give you good, solid, tools, strategies and techniques. I guarantee you they will absolutely, positively, be amazingly effective for you when you apply them. And only if you apply them. They become effective when you do! You have to take action.

Foundational Ideas That Create Powerful Leaders 1

So I'm excited! Let's jump right in. Let's get started. A lot of people ask me ... They say, , what is the main function of a leader? This is it! A leader inspires and they get the staff to follow that vision, that mission. The goal is to set a goal and then to have everybody fall in line and follow you with enthusiasm. That's the main function of a leader. Here's a little bit more on that just, to nail it down. Now, the leader has a vision, a wonderful vision, of a better future and a specific path on how to get there. But the key is to share that vision in such a compelling way that people are excited to follow you. Now the staff only follows you because they want to be part of that future. So you have to motivate them. You have to inspire them. Anybody can say "Hey, this is your job.

Do it. And they'll grudgingly do it,t but you're not going to get a lot of movement. You're not going to get a lot of buy in. You're not going to get a lot of fresh ideas and it's going to be like you're trying to move forward with an anchor around your neck ... instead of a staff that's helping you move forward faster and quicker than you ever thought possible. Let me ask you a question. What do you call a leader with no followers? Lonely guy!" There's you alone in a room by yourself. You think you're a leader ... but nobody's following you. Being A Leader doesn't mean you have Authority. You're in the position where you can hire and fire and tell people what to do. That's NOT a Leader ... that's a boss. That's a title.

It has nothing to do with being a leader or leadership. Leaders can get other people to follow them whether they have power or not. You are not a leader ... If you have no followers ... you are Lonely Guy. Here's the other definition of a leader with no followers we call them Soon to be homeless guy with no job. You are gonna be broke and out on the street. You have to learn these tools. You have to have these skills. You have to be able to get people to follow you ... or you're not a leader. And if you're in a management position ... if you're not a leader ... you don't have a job. Matter of fact you shouldn't have a job! So, a true leader focuses intensely on what's most important for the business.

If I ask you what is the most important thing in your business? What's the number one goal you have to accomplish or the top three goals that are going to help your business grow and become more profitable? Do you know the answer off the top of your head? And as a leader, does everything that you do in your business flow from that ... flow from what is most important for your business to succeed? If it doesn't ... you've made a serious error! And you can't possibly lead your staff in the right direction ... because you're not even focused on the right direction.

Foundational Ideas That Create Powerful Leaders 2

Now here's an age-old question about leadership style. Which one is better ... a hard style or soft style? Great question. Let me see if I can give you a good answer. What I'm going to do is, I've got a Black Sash and Kung Fu. Let me teach you a little bit about some of the mastery that I gained from the Martial Arts that has to do with people ... not fighting. My Kung-Fu instructor taught me that there are HIGH and LOW levels of skill. I remember one day we were out there and we were doing blocks. We'd been doing blocks for weeks. I asked, When are we ever going to learn how to punch and kick and do something exciting ... I'm getting bored with blocks. He said, "You don't understand . If you get through an entire fight and your opponent never hits you.

That was a wonderful fight! If you got hit once and he broke your tooth and you hit him five times and you knocked out five of his teeth you've got six teeth in your hand. I can guarantee you ... Out of those six teeth ... The only one you care about ... is Yours! You kind of Lost that fight. Now defending/blocking takes a very HIGH level of skill. To hurt somebody ... I can teach you that in a few minutes. Hurting people is easy. Making sure you don't get hurt, or defending another person, takes a very HIGH level of skill."

So in life ... there's LOW levels and HIGH levels of skill. To use a hard style and attack ... LOW level of skill. To use a hard style and criticize ... LOW level of skill. To use a soft style and be able to apologize when you're wrong, or apologize for your part of it, and then talk about the staff members part of it. That takes a very HIGH level of skill. Takes a much more powerful, skilled, intelligent and emotionally intelligent person to do that. LOW level of skill - Firing somebody. HIGH level of skill - chapter staff. Who do you think has a higher level of skill in the corporation? The person they call in to FIRE a bunch of people? Or the person they call in to TRAIN a bunch of people? Firing people is easy. I call you in, I scratch your name off the list and I tell H.R.

to start processing your paperwork. chapter ... I've got to have years and years and years of education so I can learn the specific tools and then share it with you. That's what I'm doing with you here today. That's a HIGH level of skill. Hard style - You're a nasty boss. You just give them hell. You offend your employees. You go up one side of them and down the other offending people. Very LOW level of skill. Being able to forgive, or even create a friendship, with somebody. That takes a very HIGH level of skill. Being a rotten boss, using a hard style and being hated. That takes a very LOW level of skill. Using a soft style and being a loved boss. People are loyal to you.

They care about you. They want to see you do well. Why? Because they know you want them to do well. To have that kind of loyalty ... That's a very HIGH level of skill. Easy to make your staff hate you. Hard to make your staff love you. So, low level skill - Hard. High level of skill - Soft. Always true. Now, Which one gets better results? The low level will work at a low level and the high level will work at the highest levels. It's all easy to remember. So a soft style is always better than a hard style. Now, having said that, I'm going to give you a Bonus Tip - Know WHEN to use each.

Even at the high level - Didn't I say you need to fire certain people? Yes, sometimes you may need to criticize their work ... but there's a specific way to do it. Sometimes you need to come down hard on an employee for their own good. It's still considered a soft style. Why? Because you started with gentler techniques and they FORCED you to go to the harder one to help them. And why are you being hard on them? To save their job. Because the very next thing is, they are going to force you to shoot them out the door OK, Leaders are always helping others to grow. Real leaders are helping others to grow. People that think they're leaders, but they're really just low level managers ... They just get the basic fundamentals done.

They collect their check, they go home and they wonder why they're not getting promoted. They don't help others grow. You have to utilize your staff to make sure that they are growing and growing and growing. Why? Because as they get more skillful, as they get more productive that productivity reflects on you and helps you accomplish your goals. You can't get better ... unless they get better. There's one of you. There's many of them. So you have to make sure that you're mentoring your staff, you're growing your staff, You're chaptering your staff. It largely comes down to the quality of the chapter. How many chapters are you doing with your staff? So that your staff can be more productive, make you more productive, make the company more productive, more profitable and make you look fantastic.

How many chapters are you giving them? So let's look at what key skills you need, and conversely your staff needs, to grow. The first one is to learn some Psychology. Think about your business. You are a Leader ... What do you deal with almost exclusively? 80 percent of your day is spent dealing with people. 20 percent is mechanical stuff manipulating things and paperwork. Right? But 80 percent are working with other people. Your manager manages what people mostly do. So the vast majority of your time you're dealing with all these different people ... all these different personalities. You have to understand WHY they do the things they do. WHY they think the way they think and how to solve all the interpersonal problems that happen.

Each employee comes with a set of what I call Baggage. These are old issues, old problems, histories. Everybody comes with trauma, maybe bad parenting. There might be some addiction going on there. Do you know 15 percent of your staff is probably addicted currently and about a third of your staff has been addicted at some point in their life? You need to know HOW to deal with these things. And everybody is just different. When people have differences they often come into conflict. Not because my way is bad and your way is good. You might have two ways that are good ... but because they don't match, they're mismatched and they come into conflict. Hey, I want to do this my way. And they're like No I want to do this my way. That's a conflict! This goes on over and over and over again.

I'm sure you're very aware of the office politics that goes on. That's Psychology. So to solve all these challenges, to help people grow, to understand the people that you're working with. Remember, you have to first understand something before you can solve it. Remember we said Proper diagnosis is half the cure. Learning about psychology will help you to diagnose it and know how to solve it. That's literally your job! But how many Books in psychology have you had? Now, I've got two great chapters that I do. A little shameless plug here. I've got one called REBT. Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy. It's literally a chapter. It's about two hours long and it's on how the brain actually works. It's like a Manual for your brain.

For how to deprogram old negative habits and thoughts and behaviors and actions and how to reprogram the positive thoughts behaviors and actions that you want. This Book will teach you how to do that and it'll help you to understand how the mind works better. I've got another Book called Why do people do the things they do? and that'll literally teach you thousands of skills. Well not quite thousands ... but it feels like it. So, you have to understand why people do the things they do or you won't know how to deal with it. I've got another Book on NLP ... which stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). This is known as The Science of Modeling Success.

It's how people can learn skills in minutes or hours or days, that used to take months and years and even decades to learn. That would be a great skill for you to have! That would be a great skill for you to teach your staff. It also teaches you how to use language to change moods and how to be more influential. A lot of sales people take this chapter. It's part of selling. Part of your job as a manager, as a leader, is to sell people on the idea of helping you out and moving forward. The goals of the corporation. And that's the next thing that I want to share with you. What you do day in day out as a leader, as a manager, is to PERSUADE people. To sell them on your ideas. To sell them on your vision. To sell them on taking massive action. To sell them on doing the chapter that we were talking about, about improving themselves.

I spent a lot of time teaching my staff and selling them on the idea of continuously growing, learning, becoming more. When they do better ... I will do better! Takes an awful lot of persuasion skills. And as a manager, as a leader, you often have to sell your projects, sell your products, sell your ideas. You're constantly selling! Those are Persuasion Skills. So, I've got a great chapter in Ultimate Persuasion Strategies. If you're interested in that. Here's another key area. Time and Life are the SAME thing. When you lose one ... you lose the other! Your time is your life ... and time management is literally the lifeblood of any corporation. You get paid hourly. When you're wasting time, you're wasting money.

Time is Money. Those quotes got to your area, right? So, an interesting statistic. There was a consulting company and they went out and they used a stopwatch like you see here. And what they did is, they turned on the watch any time an employee that they were following started doing work that you would actually pay them for ... it was valuable work. They would stop the watch anytime they were doing something that you wouldn't want to pay this person for. When they got done ... At the end of the eight hour shift, on average for the employees, they only got 2 hours of valuable work ... and six hours of wasted time! Literally, 75 percent of the time they weren't doing anything that you would pay money for! This is how poor their time management was.

They were very busy. They almost never stopped moving. They almost never stopped doing things ... but they were NOT valuable things. They weren't things that moved the company goals forward. So this is how much potential gain is on the table. Your staff could literally be doing three or four times as much. You could be 3 or 4 as profitable. Can you imagine that!? All by learning good Time Management. I've got a nice Book on this. Very simple for anybody to follow. It's got some great tools and some great techniques. I call it Ultimate Time Management - it's the Perfect Book. I would check it out.

Make sure you understand how to use time management. Make sure you've trained your staff in this area OK. That's it for the fundamentals. Now we're going to jump in. I love this part. This is the Core of the chapter. These are the specific tools, strategies and techniques of Transformational Leadership. So I'm excited! We're going to stop here and I'll see you in the very next chapter.

Tips For Wise Leaders - Chapter 4

Welcome back  here. Let's jump right into the core of the chapter. I'm excited. Let's move forward now in this first chapter we're going to look at the foundational characteristics of a powerful and effective leader. So we have specific tools, strategies and techniques. Basically tips that we want to go over with you very carefully to make sure that you have all the basic foundational work that you need to be massively successful as a leader. So the first one is that the wise leader works with what is an old zen concept in business. People really get this. It literally states what it is is just the nature of things, the ways of things. You've heard the expression it's only business you have to start from a place of reality. You can say Well , my staff should be smarter. Guess what.

They're not. So call it what it is. They need more education. Well I'm hoping business will get better. I want you to immediately give up hope you're in your current financial and economic situation. Within each situation there's a challenge and there's an opportunity. So always go back and try to focus on what is. Don't change things, don't alter things, don't wish things were different in psychology when you wish
