Candice Ackerman Lance has been writing poetry since 1986. Her poems are inspired by a near-death experience of years ago. She made a covenant with the Lord to be a faithful servant. The fluidity and content of her poetry is very uplifting. Her purpose is to save souls for Christ.

She is the third oldest of eight children, having five sisters and two brothers. One brother is now deceased.

She lived in Great Falls, Montana, for the first twenty-seven years of her life. She then moved to Spokane, Washington, and worked for Sacred Heart Hospital as a radiologic technologist. She has a daughter and two sons. She was raised in a Christian home and attended private school. She taught Sunday school to elementary students for thirteen years.

She has written more than four thousand poems. She delights in writing Christian poetry regarding all circumstances of life's ups and downs. Her poetry is truly inspiring!

Her husband passed December 5, of 2021. Since that time, she has devoted her time writing poetry in the service of the Lord.

Near-Death Experience

Near death; I occupied a hospital bed.

God beckoned Angels; to circle my head.

Next thing I saw was a view of God's sky.

I focused on a jet trail; a message up high.

Coming Home was the heavenly greeting.

A whirlwind interrupted eternity's meeting.

God said I had work on earth to complete.

Accomplish I will; until my last heartbeat.

"Go back to those who love you. Give Me

the glory so others can be born to

eternal life."

Directions God gave were abundantly clear.

I would do His will while living down here.

It's been many years since this occurred.

I'll save souls for Jesus and not be deterred.

"In My Father's house are many

mansions; if it were not so, I would have told

you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go

and prepare a place for you, I will come again

and receive you to Myself; that where I am,

there you may be also" (John 14:2–3 NKJV).

The Wedding Song

Let your hearts signal happiness on your wedding day.

Stay focused on the Lord, Jesus, each day along the way.

Be certain to put each other first in all you say and do.

Then God's love will come flowing back to each of you.

Your wedding day will always be special for each.

Enlighten your minds with what God wants to teach.

You are both tremendously special in God's eyes.

Love each other deeply and try not to criticize.

Draw all your daily strength from God's Holy Word.

Through God's holy power, your voices will be heard.

You're both a blessing to the family every time we meet.

Keep your positive attitudes and don't accept defeat.

Love never fails (Corinthians 13:8 NKJV).

Brainstorming with Jesus

At the tender age of five years old,

I spoke to Jesus, with the voice so bold.

I called a dandelion my little flower.

I rambled questions to Him by the hour.

If the flower moved, God answered yes.

If the flower was still, I would be stressed.

I wondered why the grass was green.

I never wanted to make a scene.

I wanted to please my mom and dad.

I never wanted to see them sad.

I wanted to please both parents each day.

I didn't want either of them to go away.

I had a tender heart you see.

I wanted each to be proud of me.

I survived by talking to God each day.

I was young, but I was learning to pray.

Amen!

"Train up a child in the way he should go.

And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV).

Accept No Regrets

Things may not always go as you joyfully planned.

Accept the situation, simply clutch to God's hand.

Don't be distracted with useless feelings of regret.

It may make you depressed and turn to resentment.

Remember, God is Sovereign over all your affairs.

Humble yourself to the Lord, and He will be there.

Rejoice in what Jesus is doing in your daily living.

Proudly give Him what He is due in thanksgiving.

Depend on family members to be by your side.

Your friends laughed with you, close ones cried.

Time never separates friendships like these above.

They are bound by an emotion called forever love.

Heart to heart family and friends are honest and true.

The element of time will never get between you two.

Don't allow your heart to worry about guilt or regret.

Put your heart in your work tomorrow, the rest forget.

"Humble yourselves, therefore under

God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time" (1 Peter 5:6 NIV).

Acolytes of Jesus

Christians are tools from God's pool of disciples.

Some countries don't allow the reading of Bibles.

Missionaries try to supply what a country needs.

Disciples hand out Bibles and plant training seeds.

The acolytes of Jesus will keep our King in sight.

When eternity unfolds He'll make all efforts right.

Godly disciples pave the way for church growth.

Their work is a promise, a commitment, an oath.

To be God's missionary, you must show obedience.

God will put love in your heart as a main ingredient.

A loyal, devoted missionary you'll be as you work.

Your pledged duties as a mentor you will not shirk.

"Therefore go and make disciples

of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the

Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching

them to obey everything I have commanded you"

(Matthew 28:19–20 NIV).

A Dose of Confidence

I feel like my spirit is capable of touching stars.

I sense God's presence to remove all my scars.

There is ability within me to achieve my goals.

It's time to let the Holy Spirit hold the controls.

I believe God will make my dreams come true.

I don't listen to others contrary points of view.

I don't fear competition or worry about choice.

I know God is with me; in all things I'll rejoice.

In all experiences, there is wisdom to be gained.

I run to Jesus's arms, then I never seem chained.

I am able to move ahead with strong confidence.

To my God, I am a unique person of prominence.

"I can do all things through

Christ who strengthens me"

(Philippians 4:13 NKJV).

After the Cross

Don't stop talking about Jesus and His death on the cross.

Spread the news of salvation; you were saved at His cost.

For those who are destined, Jesus arose from the grave.

You are already adopted into His family; you are saved.

Jesus also arose for those who are searching and seeking.

These are the dejected they need to hear God speaking.

The cast down look for answers the world cannot give.

If they want to be saved they must look to Jesus to live.

Jesus arose for all those who will decide to follow Him.

Ask Jesus into your heart, and the Holy Spirit will come in.

When you follow Jesus Christ, there are eternal rewards.

When you die, you'll go to heaven, you'll be with the Lord.

At times you may start doubting your faith and get deceived.

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

"At the name of Jesus every knee

should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the

glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:10–11 NIV).

A Growing Relationship

Lord, our relationship is growing and meant to last.

My faith was dim, but it has matured since the past.

You are my Eternal Life Line, and You are my King.

You captured my heart, now I praise You and sing.

Lord, once again, take my hand as You always do.

Lord, let me know I am undeniably safe with You.

The more I trust You, Lord, the more I seem to grow.

Yes, I grow because I trust in You, Lord, this I know.

While You hung on the cross, sin was on Your mind.

You erased sins blackness. My pardon was signed.

Thank You Jesus for all You do and all You've done.

Thanks for Your love and blessings that are to come.

For nothing is impossible with God

(Luke 1:37 NIV).

Allegiance to God's Church

God is faithful without end to provide all our needs.

It's essential to pray and be watchful as God proceeds.

To God's Holy Church our allegiance we do owe.

We must study our Bibles and increase what we know.

God's Word will give us more knowledge and grace.

We need to study our Bibles and increase our faith.

Bible study in groups is essential to growth too.

Add another perspective; it may change your view.

We help make our church great by the seeds we sow.

Loyal members are needed if the church is to grow.

When spiritually weak, we must increase our worship.

Pray with a friend you trust in spiritual leadership.

We must give to the church when financially weak.

Satisfaction from Jesus, we must diligently seek.

We need spiritual encouragement from our church.

Accessing counselors and leaders we can search.

Be a loyal supporter in prayer; show that you care.

Be a friend and faithful warrior, always be there.

Make God's church blossom and keep it alive.

Increase, broaden, spring forth, and make it thrive.

"And the Lord added to the church daily

those who were being saved" (Acts 2:47 NKJV).

Alone on the Housetop

Dear Jesus, sometimes I think I'm just a small sparrow.

I'm quivering alone on a house top ledge that's narrow.

I recognize You see and hear me no matter how small.

Jesus, You intend to make me feel important most of all.

My eyes may turn dull and my soul may sulk in despair.

I'll try to remember You're with me to comfort and care.

You are a generous God, and I am certain You love me!

My desire is to express to You how much I love Thee.

Jesus, Your strength is with me no matter my challenges.

I try to see to it that my faith, hope and trust all balances.

You are with me in the sunlight and with me in the dark.

Bring me down from the housetop; let my courage spark.

"You give me your shield of victory, and

your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make

me great" (Psalm 18:35 NIV).
