About this ebook

"Did I ever tell you about the time Andro and I were ambushed by a group of Apache Indians? Them Apache were the fiercest fighters I've ever encountered!"
Kelvin Wennington shook his head, as the old hunter ranted about his Indian encounter.
"No, you haven't told me about that encounter." Kelvin said.
He was lying. Of course, the old hunter had told him about the Indian encounter. He had told Kelvin about it many times over, ranting about the same Indian encounter over and over again. It had become something of a ritual for them, for the old hunter to rant like this every time they were on the hunt for some animal. The old hunter would rant about the same encounter over and over again. The details were always the same, but the Indian tribe was always different. The last time they had hunted together, it was the Blackfoot, and after that it was the Cheyenne. Now, it was the Apache. Kelvin was sure that the next time they went hunting it would be another tribe, but the story was always the same.

The Hunt for the Legendary Bear - John J. Law

    One:

Did I ever tell you about the time Andro and I were ambushed by a group of Apache Indians? Them Apache were the fiercest fighters I've ever encountered!

Kelvin Wennington shook his head, as the old hunter ranted about his Indian encounter.

No, you haven't told me about that encounter. Kelvin said.

He was lying. Of course the old hunter had told him about the Indian encounter.

Andro was the toughest companion I ever had. He was huge and...

    ...built like a mountain.

    ...built like a mountain.

Kelvin whispered to himself and made sure to speak very softly so the old hunter wouldn't hear him. He didn't want the old man to know he was getting annoy or feel insulted. After all, Kelvin knew that he owed the old hunter a lot. He practically owed him his entire life, and could not possibly repay the debt.

Andro was a big man, no he was...

...huge. He was huge. Kelvin said.

Huge! That's the adjective I was looking for! the old hunter said.

Kelvin smiled. Of course he would know the right adjective to describe Andro. The old hunter had repeated this story so many times, that he would know where and how to fill in the blanks. Kelvin didn't know if the hunter was doing this on purpose, or if he really didn't remember telling him this story over and over again. Perhaps it was the latter, as John Wennington was definitely an old trapper. An old trapper like himself would naturally struggle with little details like how he would describe and remember his old friend Andro. The passage of time and old age could do that to a person. It could rob him of his memories and power of recall. Such things were regrettable, but inevitable.

Andro was the biggest man I ever laid eyes on, and believe me, I've laid eyes on a lot of men in my time. If there was a real-life Paul Bunyan, he would probably fit the bill.

That must have been a really huge man, John. Kelvin said.

Oh Andro was large all right. He was probably as large as that mountain in the distance. the old hunter said.

John, no one could be as big as a mountain. Kelvin said, with more
