Lee Hacklyn Private Investigator in Animal House of Cards - John Leister

    NEW YORK CITY.  1975.

    CHAPTER ONE

I was standing in line at the Department of Motor Vehicles—my driver’s license expires today.

    As for my corporeal existence?

Ron Hubbard, ha, ha, I tease, actually, I have that book, it was a birthday present from my mother, I started it, but by the end of the first chapter, I felt like killing myself, which might have been the plan, so I threw against my bedroom wall and shot it.

    Just kidding, Dear Reader.

I didn’t shoot my gun, but there are days when I think that my mother wouldn’t mind so much if I took a long walk off a short ledge.

It wound up down my garbage chute.

Nice try, Mom, I’m still alive!

In fact, I was reading Marko Manhunter, the Mob Mauler #249 Massacre in Minnesota.

    Duck,
