    About the Author

    Author’s Note

All my stories are purely fictional and are written with that in mind.

Have you ever wished you could travel back in time?

Well, so does Colton! So he decided to invent a way to make time travel possible.

As much as I enjoy writing the Coltons Pocket Dragon books, I also wanted to create another magical series continuing these stories, which would give young readers a little knowledge of history.

The new series, Coltons Time Machine books, are spin-offs from the original Coltons Pocket Dragon books. Colton felt it was time his dragons got a little education about history, so he built a machine that would take all of them back in time.

In this book, Colton chose March 4, 1861, to visit Abraham Lincoln and his son, Tad, for his first history lesson. Then they will travel to New Jersey on December 31, 1879, to help Thomas Edison light up Menlo Park. Their final voyage will be on May 14, 1908, to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, to see The Wright Brothers, where Colton will give Orville a once-in-a-lifetime ride in their airplane.

From then on, Colton will be one busy little boy, finding and caring for eggs until they hatch, then off on a fun-filled flying adventure in Coltons Pocket Dragon books. Colton will then climb into his time machine in the Coltons Time Machine books, traveling back in time to important events and to meet famous people.

I hope you will enjoy reading and learning along with the dragons while Colton teaches them history.

The places, events, facts, dates, and people were researched and used as true to the best of my knowledge.

    CHAPTER ONE

Colton sat by the big tree in the park, looking through the pages of the History book, trying to decide where he wanted to go on his next time machine travel.

There are so many historical places to go and important men to visit. This is going to be a hard decision, Colton thought. After an hour, he closed the History book, picked up his backpack, and went home.

After supper, Colton went to his bedroom, put on his pajamas, took the History book out of his backpack, and got into bed. He opened the book and turned the pages slowly, stopping to look at a picture of Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president of the United States."We’re definitely going to see Honest Abe and hopefully his son, Tad," Colton said, earmarking the page.

He then turned a few more pages, seeing the famous Wright Brothers. They flew airplanes like me. I bet I could show them a thing or two about flying, Colton laughed as he marked the page.
