About this ebook
If you are a husband or wife seeking for answers, and you Google the word husband, you will come up with about 885,000,000 results, and it will only take you 0.64 seconds to find them. Impressive! After you go through some of them, you will realize that about 1/1,000,000 of those results are either reliable or true. Not so impressive. So a person must find an equally impressive tool but without so much error.
The only reliable source we could find other than Google was the Bible, but a husband must go through the entire Bible in order to ascertain its principles and truths. Thus, in order to alleviate the search of a husband or wife looking for serious answers, this book was born.
The word of God has about 337 mentions of the word--not quite as many as Google--but by far the reliability of its contents is immeasurable. From the role of a husband, which is very specifically delineated in scriptures, to the fundamental difference between husband and wife, this book will cover them all--as explained in scriptures.
An astute reader can finish the entire book in less than one day, but the average one may find it very easy to do in less than one week. Not bad for answers to be found, on a subject that would otherwise take months if not years to find.
Nine chapters that can change your life and the life of your spouse, if you apply the principles delineated in this book. The Imperfect Husband!

Preface
There are 337 mentions of the word husband in the English Standard Version (ESV) translation of the Bible, while there are 387 mentions of the word wife.
In total, there are 724 mentions of both words combined. Within this paragraph, you started reading your forty-fifth and now you are in the fifty-two—word—that is! In other words, God has placed a lot of emphasis in these two words, husband and wife . The subject of this book is the former one.
According to the dictionary, a husband is a married man considered in relation to his spouse. Wikipedia explains that a husband is the male in a marital relationship. The etymology of the word is householder, and it comes from the Middle English huseband, from Old English husbonda, and from Old Norse husbondi, which is the present participle of bua, to dwell.
All of these in reference to the care of the household.
In ancient Roman and medieval times, the husband was obligated to protect and support not only his wife and children but also servants and animals of his domain. The father or patron
was granted much authority differing from that of his wife. The role of a husband, as known, is quickly fading away with the advancement of technology and recent changes in the law.
The scope of the book will be encompassed within this paragraph: This book was written in efforts to make the reader aware that a husband does not, and will not, have to be perfect—ever! Throughout scripture, the Bible is full of stories about husbands that were less than perfect, yet God in His sovereign wisdom used them in the way that it was for His glory. This book is not about making you a perfect husband but the husband that God intended you to be—an imperfect one! This book is about allowing you to tap into the spiritual realm—so desperately needed—to be a husband full of power and grace!
To become the spiritual leader of a household, one must be taught, and one must learn the rules of the road. For instance, a biblical spiritual leader understands that his leadership is one of servanthood. The spiritual leader leads by example, not by force. Jesus came to serve others, not to be served. In the same way, the spiritual leader of the household must serve, just like Job did and just like Joseph did. We will spend some time in future chapters talking about these two heroes of the word husband.
The word husband first appeared in the Bible in Genesis 3:6, right after Eve ate from the forbidden fruit. Before this, He was known as man. So from the very beginning, the word comes with some negative connotations—husband equals sin. But that was not God's intention, and He had to send His son in order for the word to gain its original purpose.
The aim of the book is to allow the reader to become the Job 31 husband that God wanted them to be. Every woman believer knows that Proverbs 31 is the aim for them to achieve, but not every man knows that the same applies—for them—in relation to Job 31. God not only gave a chapter for women of impeccable character, He gave one to men also. They both happen to be on Chapter 31 of a different book. Only God can work these coincidences! Or are they coincidences?
We think, in fact we know, that God works in mysterious ways—not coincidences. Remember that Jesus spoke in parables for a reason—so that the religious leaders would not understand—and He said that only to us He would reveal them. The Bible says, This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God
(1 Corinthians 4:1).
An interesting fact about the God that we serve is this—He is full of mysteries! Here is one: the shortest chapter of the Bible is Psalm 117; the longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119. There are the same numbers of chapter from Psalm 117 to Genesis 1 than are from Psalm 119 to Revelation 22. So the middle of the Bible (Psalm 118) has a central theme that only God can place there: God's word is true! No, this is not numerology; this is God's hand at work.
The actor Jim Caviezel was called by Mel Gibson when he was thirty-three years old to play the role of Jesus in the movie The Passion of The Christ. Jim did not ask for the role nor did he know Mr. Gibson. But God knew them both. You see, Mel Gibson was looking for an actor that initials were JC for Jesus Christ. He could have chosen from Jim Carrey, James Caan, John Cusack, or James Cagney—well not really, he is dead—but instead, he chose an unknown actor at that time, Jim Caviezel.
Mr. Caviezel (a husband) was to play this role, and it was to change his life forever. During the filming, the actor dislocated his shoulder, which made it almost impossible to carry the cross. He had to have open heart surgery since he suffered from hypothermia and was hit by a lightning while filming—do you really think that any other actor would have finished this film? Perhaps not, but what you must know is that God has a plan for your life. He had a plan for Jim's life. Jim Caviezel learned that his redemption was based on His pain. Jim had to carry his cross.
As a husband, you are asked to carry your own cross. You are asked to sacrifice you for the betterment of your wife, children, and family. Has God equipped you for the task? You bet! God has uniquely qualified you and called you for
