My Daily Walk with the King - Amanda A. Albert

    January 1

For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away. For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment, how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation had its beginning when it was spoken of by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him. At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to his will.

    Hebrews 2:1-4 (csb)

    Happy New Year to All!

It appears that the Lord is beginning this year with a warning against neglect. Today is a great day to carve out some time, even if it’s just a few minutes, to spend time with God; in prayer, and in His Word.

I feel He has much to say to each of us, if we would come to Him with open ears and a receptive heart. I find that first thing in the morning works best for me, but God would be honored with whatever time works best for you.

Be blessed in all the works of your hands!

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

    January 2

Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. For we have become participants in Christ if we hold firmly until the end the reality that we had at the start.

    Hebrews 3:12-14 (csb)

    Encourage each other today, do it now, while it is still called today;

for today is the day of salvation.

Sin lies in wait, crouching at the door,

waiting for one to pounce on.

Don’t let the lies of Sin deceive you.

We are in Christ and have the way.

Allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit in truth.

    Encourage—Be watchful—Be led!

Focus on these as you go about your day.

Today, just observe life, and you will see and learn the ways of the enemy.

Then you will be able to defeat him every time.

    Be blessed today.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

    January 3

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens—Jesus the Son of God—let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,

but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

    Hebrews 4:14-16 (csb)

In the Old Testament, the high priest was

just a man, like us, flawed in many ways.

But now, our High Priest Jesus,

walked perfectly in His life, never sinned, and is now

at the right hand of God interceding for us.

He fulfilled the law for us. Because of this, we need

not go to a man-made temple to inquire of our God,

but rather because of the shed blood of Jesus,

we can walk directly into the throne room of Grace and speak

    with the Father.

    He welcomes us in.

Take advantage of this glorious gift today and boldly enter His presence.

    Spend some time with our Heavenly Father;

ask what you will, pray, receive,

    and bask in His holiness.

    Be blessed.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

Because God wanted to show his unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

    Hebrews 6:17-19 (csb)

God can never lie. Did you catch that?

Can you imagine a life where you never lied? Even an innocent child lies.

I think it is ingrained in us when we are born into this dark world.

But, being born again in Christ Jesus, we no longer have to lie!

We are now created in God’s image, and if He doesn’t lie, then we shouldn’t either.

The choice is and will always be ours.

    Be blessed.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

Therefore, He is able to save completely those who come to God

through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

    Hebrews 7:25 (csb)

Before this verse, God declares that Jesus is a Priest forever.

Because of this oath, Jesus has also become the guarantor of a

    better covenant.

So, Jesus is the High Priest today and will remain so forever.

I find this very comforting to know that the Righteous One who

sacrificed Himself for us is holding the door open for me.

He also guarantees the better covenant, the covenant of Grace:

sworn between God the Father and God the Son that

    can never be broken.

    Everyone should have this information.

Will you be the one to tell them?

    Be Blessed!

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord,

thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

    Jeremiah 29:11 (nkjv)

This is the Lord’s prophecy to Israel,

about their seventy year punishment being sent to Babylon.

    He goes on to say: "Then you will call out to Me and follow Me;

you will pray to Me and I will listen. You will seek Me, and you will find Me if you search for Me with all your hearts."

It looks like God is using the punishment (which must be given because Israel broke the law numerous times) to bring His children back to Him. They come to themselves to realize that God is the only way,

    the true way of life.

Why can’t we see that when life is prosperous

    and everything is going great?

Throughout the Bible, as soon as the people were totally blessed and all was going well, they began to sin, they stop worshiping the One who gave it all to them, and began to fall away.

You can even see this in our lifetime.

I pray that this generation will get it right.

    Let’s hope together.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

Though your beginning was small, Yet your

    latter end would increase abundantly.

    Job 8:7 (nkjv)

Never despise your small beginnings, even if you are beginning again.

If the starting point is sweeping the floors, then be grateful for the opportunity, and do the sweeping as if it was God’s floors.

    Smile and be enthusiastic,

take joy in the job and make those floors shine!

    For it is then,

that the Lord will promote you and raise you up,

and soon you will be CEO.

    Be blessed!

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

    "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes;

there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful."

    Revelation 21:4-5 (nkjv)

Eternal life sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

I think many are afraid of Revelation because

they think it is all doom and gloom.

    It is not.

Also, did you know that if you read Revelation you are blessed?

Imagine, God Almighty, Creator of all the seen

and unseen worlds, wiping away your every tear.

No more sorrow or pain or fear. Just joy and peace and love.

The one who sat on the throne is our Savior Jesus, the Lamb of God.

He is the One who makes all things new.

If you know someone who is on the fence about becoming a believer, send them to the last two chapters of Revelation.

This is God‘s plan for us.

Just like it was in the first two chapters of Genesis.

Be blessed in all your doings today!

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

    January 9

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

    Isaiah 43:18-19 (nkjv)

I think God was saying, "Remember Egypt?

That was nothing compared to what

    I am about to do!"

    I believe Isaiah was prophesying about Jesus;

the Way in the wilderness, the Path to righteousness

that all can follow if they choose, and then the rivers, being the Holy Spirit, being poured out onto all who would receive.

What a wonderful future for those of his time to ponder.

We live in that prophecy now. The Age of Grace.

Now is the day of salvation.

I pray that all will come to accept God’s precious gift to them.

    Be blessed today!

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. [Mal. 3:6.] They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness. [Isa. 33:2.] The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him. [Num. 18:20.]

    Lamentations 3:22-24 (ampc)

These verses are echoed in Malachi, Isaiah, Numbers,

and then all throughout the New Testament.

Our God is never changing, full of mercy and

compassion and faithful to His Word.

That’s why we are told to wait on the Lord.

For yes, it will happen yet in God’s timing, not ours.

Are you waiting on the Lord? You are in good company.

Abraham waited twenty-five years for his promise to come.

So, in the meantime, put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6),

and stand. Grow your faith, plant seeds, and "be still and know

that I am God." (Psalm 46:10 nkjv)

    Be blessed.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

    Ephesians 4:22-24 (nkjv)

I like the gospel story where the blind man cried out Jesus, Son of David and kept crying out until Jesus stopped and called him.

He then threw off his beggar’s cloak and

went before the Lord. (Mark 10:46–52).

We must do the same and throw off our old way of doing things and embrace the new way, the way God originally intended.

Sidenote: he was blind, yet he knew scripture for the term Son of David is a reference to the Messiah. He threw away his old life of begging, without knowing what would happen (that’s faith) and put on the new life of following Jesus, with his sight restored.

Wonderful things happen when we answer the call and come to the Lord.

    Be blessed.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

    January 12

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

Psalm 121 (nkjv) Song of Ascent

    Are you in trouble?

Look to the Lord not to the trouble.

He will preserve you and protect you.

Have faith in Him and Him alone!

Be blessed in all your troubles today.

    For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;

And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.

    Isaiah 65:17 (nkjv)

Here Isaiah prophesies about the coming age. When Christ Jesus will rule, the new Jerusalem will come down to the Earth, and God will

once again walk with us in the cool of the day.

A time when all tears will be wiped away, no more pain or sorrow and no more death. Eternity with Elohim, our Creator and Father, in peace and joy! It will be so wonderful that we will not even remember the days of old.

The best part is verse 24, which says it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

If Adam had chosen the right tree in the garden, we would be living there now. So now let’s not do like Adam; let’s make the right choice and choose life and blessings in Christ Jesus.

    Be blessed in your choosing!

Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him—a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

    Colossians 3:9-11 (nasb)

Lying: do you ever wonder why it is so easy to do?

Even children: Did you do that?

Oh, no, says the child, it was Sally.

Who taught them to lie at such a young innocent age?

The enemy, of course. He is the father of all lies,

and I hate to say it, he was our father before we were born again.

Liars are an abomination to God and satan wants us as

far away from God as he can get us.

So, be on guard for this particular wile of the devil, and no matter what, do not lie. You may be surprised at the response you get, but even so, who do you want to please and serve?

    man… Or God Almighty?

Be blessed in your words today.

    DAILY SCRIPTURE

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison

    2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (nasb)

It amazes me that Paul describes all that he

went through as light, momentary affliction.

After all, he was beaten many times, scourged, and shipwrecked…

And we complain that we can’t buy a new car!

Paul truly suffered for Christ, yet it is meaningless to

him in comparison to eternal life with Christ Jesus.

Through your trials, keep your eyes on the unseen for those

things are eternal and look not on the seen, for they are

    temporal and are passing away.

Be blessed in any and all trials that may come your way today.

God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good.

    Genesis 1:31a (nasb)

Everything that is here was created by God (Elohim).

We did not create anything. People can reconfigure, recalibrate,

redesign, or reform things that have been created, but no

human being can create something totally on their own.

We lack the power, ingenuity, and ability to create

anything out of nothing as God does.

    (Thanks, Tony Evans).

I always thought that because I am made in the image of God, that I too could create things. Yet, now I see that anything I create was created with things already here, things provided by the Father.

The most eye-opening revelation is that if I have a problem,

Elohim has already made the building blocks for the solution.

Like a puzzle, all I need to do is put it together.

    God—Elohim (Creator)—has already provided

all the answers that we will ever need.

    Praise Elohim!

    Revelation 21:1 (kjv)

for I will create new heavens, and a new earth; the past

events will not be remembered or come to mind.

    Isaiah 65:17

for just as the new heavens, and the new earth, which I

will make, will remain before me. This is the Lords declaration,

so your offspring, and your name will remain.

    Isaiah 66:22

The early prophets proclaim this and Revelation tells us again. A renewed land of promise. Where righteousness dwells.

I make all things new, says Jesus.

    New in time and quality.

The old, decaying, enfeebling, and corrupting elements are swept away. The aspects and features which will surround the inhabitants of that new earth will be full of novelty to satisfy the progressive instincts of our nature. (Elliot’s commentary).

The sea: is that literal? Let’s leave that to the future or is it the sea in its present condition that will be no longer?

The promise? We will not remember the past, which is actually the world we live in right now, and your descendants and your name will remain forever.

Be blessed as you ponder the future.

And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust

and confident reliance in the Lord. [Ps. 5:11.]

    Psalm 40:3 (ampc)

The world will see the new you.

The you who has joy, even when problems surround you.

You still sing to the Lord, knowing that

He is your Refuge and Fortress, your God in Whom you trust.

The world will see this and want what you have. They want that joy for themselves. So, they also will put their trust in God and fear Him.

What a great way to bring others to the Lord. Just show them your life. You are the living example of Christ, full of joy and peace.

Be blessed as you show the world Christ Jesus today.

    Jeremiah 31:31 (ampc)

God always tells His people what He is going to do in advance of doing it.

Here Jeremiah is prophesying about the covenant between

God the Father and Jesus, the Son of Man.

A covenant that will never be broken.

In this new covenant, God will put His law

within us and write it on our hearts.

(Sounds like the Holy Spirit will be at work here.)

Jeremiah goes even further to the new creation when he says that no one will teach of the Lord, for all will know Him. For I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more

    (Hebrews 8:8-12; 10:16-17).

    It sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?
