As you lay out

You find my shoulder

To rest your tired head

Upon

Silence in the black with

Your sweet breaths as my

Soundtrack

Your curly chestnut-colored

Hair tickles my nose

Never minding it, because

This moment is far too sweet

To let pass me by

You resting up on me while

I write poetry

Can't capture it with a photo

So I take a mental picture instead

Forever embedded in my head

I crave nights like this further

More

I hope as you grow my shoulder

Will always be a place your head

No matter your age, know your mama

Lives for the moments of you in my

Bed, cozied up next to me

Know it brings me peace

With you is where I've always

Having you is when I came into
