Introduction

Hello! First and foremost, thank you for purchasing this collection of poetry! Supporting independent artists, in any form, is extremely important for a multitude of reasons, but I can’t think of them right now, because I am SO excited to get this project out into the universe!

As most of you know, I lived my life as a drag queen for the better part of six years. I gravitated toward female energy from a young age, and I clicked with females the most while growing up. I started drag to discover and explore what I could do with a female persona, and Tequila Mockingbird was born. I was seeing a lot of cliques and favoritism when I was coming up through the Midwest scene (Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck, Bemidji), and quite frankly, I was sick of it. I started Hot Mess Harlots with the late and great Andy Held (Diana Liv) in 2017. The rest is history.

I didn’t always do things right as a producer, and lord knows I was a messy idiot on more than one occasion, but I got back up and got better each and every time. This collection dives deeper into my experiences, and gives you a
