Soul Ascension - Steven Kunkler
Episode 1: Henava
He had just opened his eyes, expecting to see the wooden beams hanging above his bed in his darkened, untidy room. Instead, and to his utter horror, he was greeted by the sight of a seeming void of darkness and tiny specks of light. The last thing he remembered was going to bed for what would have been his last day of high school the next morning. Now... he was apparently laying on a cloud in the sky.
What the devil?
he mouthed to himself, looking down and realizing that his arms and legs (in fact his whole body) was a light blue color. After looking around for a moment in disbelief, he slapped himself lightly on the cheek, hoping to wake up from whatever kind of strange and highly realistic dream he was having.

The aura of energy he appeared in lingered and glowed in white hot intensity.
Who are you and where am I?
the boy spoke, unable to keep the fear and unease out of his words.
Relax, there is no danger here. Just give me some time to explain....
the man spoke, raising his hands in the air as if in surrender. How should I put this? You are in Henava, the crossroads between earth and Heaven.
S-So I'm dead?
No, you're not dead. Your body is currently awaiting the return of your soul, which should happen any minute now. Frankly, we have much to discuss and not enough time. I don't mean to be rude, but I need you to refrain from asking too many questions before I've told you what I need to tell you.
The boy was in awe and despite the stranger's words, a question slipped out of his mouth before he could even stop himself. Are you an angel?
The man looked at him and smiled. "I suppose introductions are in order, at the very least. My name is Light and yes, I am an angel. And you are the seventeen-year-old Risan unless I made
