    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

    My first real encounter with Hypnotism came from Dr. David Cheek, early member and president of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. As an expectant mother, his technique for managing pain during childbirth taught me to become a true believer. As an educator, I felt the need to become trained and skilled in using the power of the mind. l then became a Master Hypnotist, a Certified Hypnotherapist and a Certified Stress Management Consultant. There were many hours of study, testing and preparing to help others understand the power of the mind in accomplishing this goal. My late husband, Lorin M. Wiser paved the way for us both to become trained. Together, we formed a practice to help others in their pursuit to master their own habits and mind patterns. Self-Hypnosis has a series of techniques to help people gain the personal freedom needed to make correct choices and overcome negative behaviors.

    The Subconscious Mind is about 80% of the brain and the Conscious Mind is about 20%. There is a little filter between the two parts of the mind called the Critical Faculty--which is developed at around the age of eight years of age. The filter enables us to make choices between the two parts of the mind. We would all be victims of every whim or advertisement that comes along if we didn’t learn to control our thought patterns, choose right from wrong, health from sickness and more. Being able to train our subconscious mind is a skill we each can develop as we grow, learn and develop correct choices and behaviors in life.

    Through hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis, we can learn positive habits and choices, as well as develop the personal accountability to choose what is best for us. The exciting part is overcoming negativity and developing genuine self-confidence.

    I would like to acknowledge the late, Virgil Hayes, our trainer, through Gil Boyne, pioneer in Clinical Hypnosis of Los Angeles. Together, they followed the same format as Dr. Cheek--through the positive teachings and techniques of Dr. Milton Erickson. Studying the healthy person, vs. the sick person, enables one to become mentally healthy while correcting negative personal beliefs or unproductive habits.

    I also would like to thank and acknowledge Dr. Patrick Porter, PhD, an award winning author, consultant and developer of Brain Tap. His training of Self-Hypnosis helped my husband and I to develop a Center under his counsel—helping others in weight loss, addictions, stop-smoking, learning skills, scripting and more. Working through him in Positive Change Hypnosis gave us the correct know-how to develop scripts, self-talk techniques and nutrition. His light and sound machine technology also enriched the process of developing the correct habits needed to become a mentally strong human being.

    Some of the following processes were inspired in development and scripting by Dr. Patrick Porter, as he trained us for helping clients in our Positive Changes Hypnosis franchise--working with clients with specific needs, i.e. weight loss, abundance, pain control, self-esteem, etc. I’m excited to share these processes to assist others in becoming the best version of themselves and reaching their own great potential.

    YOUR JOURNEY TO THE SEASHORE

    The following process will help you discover your hidden treasures, personal purpose and your gratitude for life.

    An Incredible journey awaits you as you enter a deep, relaxed state and imagine the success that fulfills your desires. Just close your eyes now, and with your eyes closed, imagine the eye muscles and tendons going completely relaxed. Just take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in deeply, begin to imagine the eye muscles going loose and relaxed. As you breathe out with a sigh, let all of the tension from the day out--just let it all go. Imagine you are on a beautiful seashore, walking down a scenic path--the fresh air glides across your face and you hear the sounds of seagulls up ahead. You feel the calm breeze that sweeps over your hair, your face, and your entire being. As you walk down this path of the gorgeous seashore, you notice the waves rippling in, and out, back and forth; as you watch these waves rippling to and fro, back and forth, you notice how they come and go—just like life. The water sweeps away all the troubles and the turmoil from the day--and with each sweep of a wave, you feel yourself going deeper, deeper, deeper into a more relaxed state.

    As you walk down this lovely path with fragrant flowers, shrubs and trees everywhere, you think to yourself of how you would love to go and
