    Chapter One

    Sirens wailed as Levi took his descent.

    A message lit up on his phone and he was barely able to look at it before he stepped off the roof of the bank he had just robbed. A case of cash was in hand and he was praying to himself that he wouldn’t lose a dime of it.

    His phone lit up again.

    Fuck. I’m gonna be on the couch for this one. He said to himself right before he landed feet first on top of the cherry red get away car.

    His boots clanked as they absorbed most of the shock and it roared to life as he climbed down into the sun roof.

    He fell down onto the leather passenger seat and strapped in, hand gun still in hand.

    Where to? The British voice of his secretary sounded off. Her name was Beatrice and she was one hell of a driver. She was curving lanes at an astounding speed with cars honking at her all the while.

    Home. Levi said with a breath, Orion isn’t going to be happy about this one.

    You need to swing by the office first. He can’t see you in disguise. I’m sure this robbery is going to be all over the news.

    I’m sure he’s going to be working this robbery.

    Either way, you’re going to be late. She replied already speeding for the office before he could answer.

    I’m sure you’re right, Beatrice. To the office and then I’ll drive myself home.

    By the time Levi had gotten home he was greeted by the nanny. She was a young college girl named Linda who had lived down the street from Orion and Levi from the day they moved in six years ago. She was always great with their kids, two girls ages four and five, so Levi had given her a job. His husband Orion was one of the best private investigators in town and Levi was one of the best criminals in town. Orion didn’t know this.

    Levi hadn’t meant to fall for the detective, but he did at an astounding rate. He didn’t know Orion was a detective when they met at that dance bar all those nights ago. He just thought he was a pretty man and Levi had a thing for pretty, yet husky men. Orion was short and
