About this ebook

People who follow martial arts, including Kung Fu, know how important it is for a person to have control over their emotions.  To understand one's motivations and emotions means understanding and knowing oneself. Martial arts aren't generally about killing the other person in some violent fashion.  Martial arts are about gaining knowledge and control over oneself. Martial arts are about learning the emotions your adversary may be experiencing through your own self-reflection and insight.

Most martial arts practitioners know that emotions illicit responses.  If we do not control those responses, the enemy can keep us unbalanced.  They can attack us when we are drowning in our own emotions. They can instigate, and they can draw out emotions that we didn't even know we were having in that moment.  Emotions can be used against us if we are not aware of them.  Emotions can be a sort of Achille's heel in life.

This book aims to help you with your emotional Kung Fu, so that you learn better control over your emotions. We will talk about how to instantly stop your stress in the moment by doing a simple technique proven to trick your brain. We will discuss setting up your environment to ensure maximum relaxation when you are in your safe space, and how to visualize a safe space if you do not have access to one.

We will teach you why silence is so powerful, and why only the wisest men use silence to their advantage. We will talk about why the pursuit of happiness can and should drive every decision you make in life, reducing your risk of decision paralysis. We will show you ways and give you tools to help you get back to basics, including Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Salt Spa Therapy, Negative Ion Generators, Sleep Hygiene, Nootropics, Diet, and Hydration.

Emotional Kung Fu - A. Weiss

    CONTENTS

    1 introduction

As humans, we are emotional animals.  Emotions help us to fall in love and have offspring. Emotions ideally make us avoid things that will kill us.  Emotions are part of who we are.  They help us to figure out how to interact with other people and things that we encounter in our world.  We figure out our life purpose through processing our thoughts and emotions.  We reflect on the things that make us most happy, and then we pursue those things.

People who follow martial arts, including Kung Fu, know how important it is for a person to have control over their emotions.  To understand one’s motivations and emotions means understanding and knowing oneself. Martial arts aren’t generally about killing the other person in some violent fashion.

They can instigate, and they can draw out emotions that we didn’t even know we were having in that moment.  Emotions can be used against us if we are not aware of them.  Emotions can be a sort of Achille’s heel in life.

Most of us don’t realize it, but we could use a little work on dealing with our own emotions.  In martial arts, this is an important step in the process of learning ourselves and learning our opponent.  We either let our emotions rule us and others, or we close them off to be impenetrable to the outside world.  Our emotions can make or break our lives, sabotaging our success with our boss in the office, our family members or our dating prospects.

Like IQ, our EQ can be measured on a scale.  EQ is our emotional intelligence quotient.  Emotional intelligence is not something we readily learn from our parents, peers or teachers.  Not being emotionally mature, however, can cause irreversible damage to our reputation and our lives.  People who cannot control their emotions are often labeled by society as being mentally disordered or disturbed.  We are not just labeled for having too many emotions, but some of us are labeled for not displaying enough emotions.  Still others are labeled for not displaying the socially appropriate emotion for the circumstances, including someone who laughs when others are feeling sad or afraid.
