Meryle and Lancelot's Adventures - Genevieve Leanne Dominguez
Chapter 1
Iknock on Camelot’s doors for the first time. The outside of the castle is more beautiful than what Merlin described. The central courtyard is overflowing with lush greenery. A fountain sprays turquoise water in the air before dropping to a large bowl made of jade. The steps to the doors are inlaid with marble and gold. Waterfalls and sunsets are painted on the castle walls in exquisite detail and bright colors.
I’m excited to explore the castle and the surrounding villages. The outlying lands that belong to King Arthur are sparse, used either for farming or trading. I followed Merlin’s instructions exactly: Keep to the trade routes and head north.
When the guards open the door, I hand them the invitation Merlin sent me. Their armor is polished so well that I’d think they were statues. Meriel, is it?
the guard holding the paper asks.
No, it’s Meryle. The ‘e’ at the end is silent,

I don’t know if Merlin told anyone other than Arthur that I was coming to visit, but I want everyone to know I’m just as friendly as Merlin.
Boo!
a familiar voice says.
I scream and whirl around to hit Merlin in the
