How To Find, Make, and Keep Friends
()
About this ebook
This book is about personal contact and how you can work on improving your approach to other people in positive ways.
Once you have decided that what is happening in your life is not good and needs changing, half your battle is over. In much the same way that an alcoholic must first admit that they are one to begin recovery, so it is with life habit changing. You are the main obstacle standing in the way of success.
Make the decision to go out into the world with the express purpose of finding friends and you will find them. To this determination you must add a conscious effort to work on the two further requirements of the process. You must work to make and then keep your new friends.
Before I go on to discuss keeping a friend, we must look at the various ways to turn casual contacts into friends. There are definite techniques involved in dealing with and speaking to people that will turn them from an acquaintance to a buddy.

How To Find, Make, and Keep Friends - Michael Raymond
Forward
Those who know me will be wondering why I wrote this ebook. Some will, that is. Others will know very well why.
It is not that I am universally hated or that I have so many friends that I cannot remember them all. The fact is, I have made and lost as many friends as most people do in their lifetime.
That qualifies me to write on the subject because if there is anyone who knows his own strengths and shortcomings, it is I. Think about it. What person on Earth is more qualified to list your problem areas than you? Therefore I submit that the book is about me and you can read me into each example and problem description found herein.
By the same token, you can also read me into all of the suggestions of how to be a friend and how to keep friends. This is because I have proven the concepts that I write about in my own experience. You will find that much of what I describe is true or has been true in your own life.
At various times I have been the most likeable and charismatic person around. During these times I was surrounded by friends and had people seeking me out. Like most people, I let those times come and go without much thought.
When I was caught up in the hustle-bustle of our work-a-day world, I often forgot to be my normal self and became unbearable. These were times that people turned away and some even turned on me. This book is about those times, good and bad.
At the grand age of 72, I am now at the stage where I look back on my life and ask myself what I have contributed to society. Not much! With this writing I hope to remedy that situation.
