INTRODUCTION
Over the years I’ve had people say, when are you going to write a book? So when I sat down, finally, to do it, it seemed natural. This book is the culmination of many years of experience, interviewing, hiring, managing, and observing people. I have directed it to the high school market because that’s my passion. I want to help those in and out of high school succeed at finding employment if that is what they want. This is a time in life when there’s so much uncertainty. What does the future hold? How do I get a job? How can I be successful?

He invested his time with me, and that’s what I’m doing through this book today. It’s my hope that this book will help guide you into that first job that launches you into your work life.
My seventh-grade homeroom teacher, Mr. Charles Horst, used to tell our class that the local newspaper, for 10 cents, was the best value for your money. His thinking was that you learned so much about local, national, and international news; and it only cost a
