    Preface

    YHWH came about over a spread of almost a decade. At the beginning of my sobriety, I was inspired by many things. Art, experience, women, struggles, and triumphs, from the perspective of someone in recovery, witnessing how individuals live their own lives. From that perspective, I realized that just because I was choosing to be sober and live my life better, I was no better than the drug addicts on the corner. See, as an addict and an alcoholic, you as an individual must come to terms with your former life, however hard it may be.

    To cope with my addiction, I began to write every day. Daily journal entries, prayers, and the experiences of what my new life was blossoming into. Some days were good, but some days were just as hard. Anywhere from coming home from work and bawling my eyes out, to the feeling of new love but then wondering if it was even real in the first place.
