    Chapter 1:

Sid screamed with joy upon seeing his grandfather on his birthday. It seemed almost impossible for him to attend the celebration, especially when he was about to win the case against Sebastian.

Grandpa! Sid exclaimed. Dad said you wouldn't come.

Well, Dad is wrong. You are more important to me right now than anything else, his grandfather replied. Save some excitement for my gift too. He pointed Sid towards a large gift packet in the middle of the room, about the size of ten bricks.

Sid carefully opened the gift and asked, What is this, Grandpa?

    It's called a radio, Sid's grandfather replied.

A radio? Sid never expected to receive a radio as a gift.

Yes, a radio. I could have bought you a toy car or a small bike, but I don't think those would be memorable. Come on now, I'll show you how it works, said Richard, Sid's grandfather.

Richard began setting the frequency on the radio while Sid watched with great interest. Suddenly, a jeep arrived at Sid's home. Richard heard the sound of the vehicle and went outside to see who had arrived. He expected to see his son and daughter-in-law, but the sight terrified him. He quickly ran back into the house.

Sid! Listen to me. Some dangerous people have come to harm you. Run away through the back door, he said, his voice filled with fear.

Who are they, Grandpa...? Sid tried to ask.

Shut up and run away, Richard yelled at his grandson.

Sid didn't waste a second and followed his grandfather's instructions, running towards the back door.

Look who's giving wise advice to the kid, one of the men at the door sneered.

What do you want, Sebastian? Richard asked, turning to face Sebastian and the three goons he had brought along.

You know exactly what I want. You know, Sebastian replied.

I already gave you my answer in court. The property is mine. It always has been. I won't allow you to set foot on my land, Richard replied firmly.

I don't think you quite understand the tension here, Richard, Sebastian stated.

I understand very clearly. You want a piece of every land you lay your eyes on. Well, it won't happen, not as long as I'm alive, Richard firmly replied.

Oh, there's no need to go that far. I intend to resolve our problem without a single drop of blood being spilled, Sebastian responded.

I can't even begin to imagine you in that way, even for a second, Richard scoffed.

Sebastian walked closer to Richard. You think so little of me. When I say something, I mean it. Not a drop of blood, Richard. Not a drop of blood.

What's on your mind, then? Richard asked.

Sebastian began to circle around Richard. Well, let's see. If I were to offer you a handsome sum of cash, let's say double the value of the land, would you perhaps come to your senses and consider my offer?

By 'double,' you mean money earned through murders, kidnappings, or smuggling. No thanks, Richard retorted.

"I can't say I don't appreciate your way of speaking. I receive such responses all the time. But those last two words, 'No thanks.' God
