About this ebook

In the Christian life, we have an enemy that has been honing his craft for a very long time. He's a master at what he does, and his focus is to do everything possible to destroy your relationship with Jesus. How does he do it?

Through the same methods he used against Eve in the Garden of Eden. Satan's goal is to make you think and believe lies so he can get you to a point of isolation away from God.

This book will help you see Satan's methods, understand how and what the enemy is trying to do, and how to avoid falling prey to his tactics.

    About the Author

I would like to dedicate this book to my wife and sons who always believed I could do anything.

I would also like to dedicate this book to those who took the time to walk through all the stages of writing this book: Kathy, Martha, Bertha, Elaine, and Paul.

Lastly, I would like to dedicate this book to Cody and Tiffany, who believed in this book enough to make it possible.

    Introduction

Professional wrestling. Growing up in the late eighties and early nineties, as a young boy, this was life and death. There was never a question of whether wrestling was real or not. As a matter of fact, it was not even debatable. I would argue with anyone who tried to tell me otherwise.

I can still remember the Great American Bash in 1990. Sting was coming off a horrible knee injury and was fighting Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight title. I remember being so excited to watch this match. The drama and excitement of this match were amazing. Sting was the embodiment of good and Ric Flair evil. It seemed every time that Sting would gain momentum that Flair would counter and begin working on that surgically repaired knee. My emotions were like a seat on a roller coaster with every second of the match.

When it looked like Flair was going to win, with his signature figure four-leg lock, suddenly Sting miraculously got this surge of energy, and it propelled him to the title. I remember screaming, crying, and yelling with such excitement that Sting beat Flair. Good won over evil.

Now in my forties, I know a little better how professional wrestling works. However, I am still a die-hard fan and watch regularly. However, I know now that the reality behind wrestling is that there isn't a reality. It is story lines that are staged for entertainment purposes with great athletes performing.

It was a difficult time when I learned and understood that wrestling wasn't real. That the reality I had grown up with was a facade. That my heroes were just athletes at the mercy of a script and storyline.

Yet though wrestling is performing from storylines, there is some reality to it. There are real emotions involved and real punishment and injuries that take place. There are real hits between the ones that are fake. The beauty in performing is when you cannot seem to tell the real from the fake, and the lines become blurred. That is the beauty of wrestling and why I am still hooked to this day.

At the end of the day though, these wrestlers are real people, with real names, with real jobs. They leave the persona of their character and are normal people living in the real world. And this real world that we live in is not characters, not storyline-driven, and not fake. It is as real as it gets.

The reality is that God created mankind in His image and likeness in order to have a relationship with him. It was God's choice and His design, and He did it simply out of love. However, there was an enemy who couldn't stand this. An enemy who offered a different story line to Adam and Eve.

Adam and Eve dwelled with God in perfect love and relationship. In that setting, Satan offered a different opportunity, a different agenda for the man and woman. He offered them a different reality, or so they thought.

After falling prey to the lie that Satan told them, Adam and Eve discovered that the reality that was offered to them was completely different. That moment changed mankind for all eternity and altered if you will the storyline.

The reality of God creating mankind is that we were in a perfect relationship with Him and had no needs. The reality we live in now, due to Adam and Eve's sin, is that we lost that relationship and could not get it back. God had to be the one to initiate the reconnection of the relationship and
