JUST A FKN LABOURER. - Sam Walter Douglas Wallace
The little lies we tell ourselves become our truth and that’s okay.
To [Redacted.], I do this all for you and our blood.
Oh, how trying but how good it feels to lull a baby to sleep.
To hold them close and sway.
With the rhythm, two souls becoming one.
Patience and love becoming one.
To turn to shield her eyes from the light peering in from the doorway.
The light is on my face now
I know she can see it better than she ever will.
Her spine and arms and legs so strong and struggling.
She is going to be trouble this one.
I can feel the strength of her spirit
and all the questions burning in her dark eyes.
As the scowl on her face fades
and her eyes shutter to a close.
Her breath so soft, gentle, innocent and clean
as I feel her relax, go limp and melt into me
as if she trusts me wholly
and finally, we are both at peace.
And I never want this moment to end.
For I know what comes next
and it chills me to my bones.
So, if I could turn this moment into an ocean
I would gladly drown in it.
But I do not control the oceans
and I don’t get to choose who drowns.
And can only pray for kind winds
knowing that I must be there
to love whatever shore we are blown to.
And so, it has to be for her.
Why I walk these streets of fire.
Why I wrestle this demon host.
It all has to be for her.
AND IF IT IS ALL FOR HER.
WHO AM I NOT TO GO ALL IN.
SO HERE I GO, ALL THE WAY.

As Bob Dylan said And every one of them words rang true; And glowed like burnin’ coal; Pourin’ off of every page; Like it was written in my soul, from me to you.
- Bob Dylan, Tangled Up in Blue 1975. And so, it is said the words you read, you become. So go read some fkn words.
The following words have already been said before, this is just a different way of saying them. So, know this before dismissing them as derivative from other arguments, as they are derivative from other arguments, yet I do not actually know those other arguments. I have only read very little. For I am not a learned man, not in the sense you would define is learned. So, then I argue you yourself can learn these truths, but not from me but rather yourself. As the words are not perfect as I am not perfect, but they are as damn close as I will ever be able to make them. This is me going all in, going all the way. This is me putting it all on the table, putting it all on black, refusing to put it all on red. This is me backing myself, for if I don’t back myself who the fck will. This is my soul written in blood for you. It’s a fkn long story. So please fkn enjoy.

Part V. Conclusion.
PART V.
CONCLUSION.
What makes a bad man bad?
Acting in harmful ways that harm others and maybe even himself, someone who lies or is untruthful maybe even to himself.
Well, what do you mean by harmful or untruthful?
Surely to cause harm of course. And to cause harm that must imply someone is being harmed. That is to say, someone cannot act in harmful ways without there being someone to experience that harm, but maybe this could even be of themselves. And to be untruthful would be to say things that are not true. And again, this would infer that the saying of an untruthful thing has to be said to someone, even themselves. So, to be a bad man, you must have someone around to be bad towards or you can be a bad man towards yourself.
Well, why is it bad if he only harms himself and what if he lies for good reason?
We will get to this but first we must figure out why he does these things.
And why does he do these things?
Well surely, he is bad in and of himself and is irredeemable in that sense. That is to say, he is bad in essence and being himself and should be put down like a rabid dog and we should just move on with our lives. He is what he is and what will be will be. Once a thief always a thief.
Surely you don’t believe that.
Absolutely not, life is not that simple, and that outlook leaves us on the path to more Hitlers, Mussolinis, Lenins and Maos. For maybe a thief thinks everyone else steals. However, even though life is not black and white, in order to work out our definitions we have to theorise it as such. But yes, it is important to note we exist in a spectrum as one cannot be completely good, nor can they be completely bad. And for this reason, everyone should be redeemable for no one is purely good or purely bad but exist as a mixture of both.
Okay, so why is a bad man bad?
Well, you could say he acts in harmful ways that harm others and maybe even himself, someone who is untruthful to others and maybe even himself.
Again, but why does he do this?
To satisfy selfish reasons and knowingly does so.
Okay, so a bad man is a selfish man that knows he is selfish? And a good man must be selfless then?
It is more complicated than that.
How so?
A bad man acts in harmful ways for selfish reasons because he submits to the urges and impulses of the body and mind and knowingly does so. That is to say that we all have bad thoughts but those of us that refrain from those bad thoughts are better men.
Well surely not all of us have bad thoughts?
Are you suggesting you do not have bad thoughts and therefore you would be perfect then?
No, I am not perfect, no one is perfect.
Yes, no one alive is perfect. So, a good man is a man who does not act in harmful ways to satisfy selfish reasons and who resists the urges and impulses of the body. In other words, he has self-control and rules his mind.
I don’t think it’s as simple as self-control.
This is a good point. The question remains why is he acting in self-control? Is it that he fears the ramifications of not controlling himself or maybe he knows what is wrong and refrains from doing wrong things?
Yes, isn’t that empathy?
Maybe so in some sense however, if he knows what is wrong, he must then know what is right. As we have day, we must have night.
Yes, we all know what is wrong and what is right, what is good and what is bad.
No, we all think we know what is wrong and what is right, what is good and what is bad. For this is your opinion, is it not? So back to the original premise. A good man is a man who acts in self-control for morally righteous reasons. But why would he do such things?
Because it is the right thing to do.
Absolutely. But could you say that the reason it is the right thing to do is because it benefits others.
Yes, I believe that’s plausible.
So, a good man is a man who acts in self-control for morally righteous reasons for the benefit of society. Could you agree to that premise? For then a good man cannot exist outside of society for he needs to benefit society in order to be a good man. No man is an island
as John Donne said.
Well, he can exist outside of a society and not cause anyone harm or lie to anyone therefore is he not a good man?
Think of this. As we stated, to be bad he must be harmful to another and/or be untruthful to another, even himself. If one was to live in solitude outside of society completely alone like a beast in nature, he would be robbing himself of the opportunity to fight these bad thoughts. That is to say, he would have no one around him to have bad thoughts about or to lie to except himself. So where is the morality in that? How can he be an
