About this ebook
This set of poetry written with imagination and soul: even some lust. Because life is about passion and about happiness and the journey to seeking happiness. Whatever road that is taken: the goal is the same. Perhaps these poems show different ways to reach the mysterious goal we seek. No matter which walk of life we are on.
Kate is a collection of poetry that I think speaks from the heart.

Ghost Ship
The ship of fools
A celebration of fools
Ghosts of the deceased celebrating
Those ancient classmates
Joking about the past
Laughing as they cry
A roomful of children's toys
The resident of the ship of fools
To be handed an invitation card
The party of 2099 to begin
That pain, those tears
Now just hysterical tears of laughter
Life seen with new wise eyes
The eyes of a future president
The eyes of future generations
The human race expanding
The planet spinning in orbit
Although it not to come around
The innocent guilty of being children
The innocent not guilty of murder
The innocent playing another
For an insolent and nasty fool
Hurting another to wrongly look cool
Not yet realizing the humour
Soft for little children by Erasure
Always being sung
Nightmare on Elm Street begun
Yet the nightmare ends
The bullies becoming friends
Once the lesson is learnt
The deceased victim never a fool
Never again to dwell on the once nightmare
Not having realised home truths
Only knowing the misery of youth
School days painful and upsetting
With every morning that arrived
But now an old man or old woman
The elderly knowing their place in the world
They know heaven their ultimate goal
Now forgiving their cruel bullies
Saving their soul from doom and gloom
Now happily hosting a popular party.
Always On The Run
Vicky: always on the run
But where can she go?
Where can she hide from herself?
Where can she escape from herself?
When there is nowhere to run?
When Vicky cannot escape?
Wanting to run away: understandable
Everyone wants to run away sometimes
But how do you get someone to see sense?
When they're confused within themselves?
When they carry their problems with them?
Problems that have to be faced and dealt with
Spending years going from place-to-place
Memories that Vicky wants to erase
But still searching for the perfect place
However it is Australia that's the real dream
Where the weather is hot and the police aren’t on the scene
When the pace of life is peaceful and ideal
Trapped in a prison cell like trash
Treated by others like trash
Often asking people for cash
Being ever so bold and brash
Knowing being bold gets her what she wants
Knowing others she shouldn’t need to haunt
Needing to wake up
Forgetting the useless makeup
Waking one day to see the light:
Others she must no longer fight
Others she must learn to respect and be calm with
Others that help she must be reasonable with
Always on the run
Life never enjoyable or fun
A nightmare life more than begun
Others laughing and having their cruel fun
This completely wrong and unfair
Their eyes just to capture Vicky and nastily stare
Vicky believing running away the answer
But she is within the iron system
A system there to protect everyone
A system designed to be fair
Perhaps now under wise guidance
Vicky never on the run again.
The Quest For Knowledge
The scientist on a quest for knowledge
Dreaming of being Albert Einstein
Dreaming of understanding
Complex scientific equations
Theories and top level mathematics
Having no problem understanding
Having no problem withstanding
Those science and mathematics exams
Writing science papers
That echo Albert Einstein
Graduating high school
Never being the class fool
Being the top class student
Being the high achiever
That exclusive guest list
Always treated with respect
Always too smart for the other students
Always showing initiative
Always on time for class
Always sitting every exam
Knowing every correct answer
Knowing every correct spelling
Knowing every correct technique
Knowing every correct approach
Knowing every correct process
Spending childhood and adulthood
In every classroom through the years
From primary school to secondary school
From college to university
Into the pressure of the workplace
But with all this knowledge
Comes wisdom and self confidence
And high self esteem that does show
Other students knowing not to play
And if they do play, play nice
Growing old respectfully
Learning in every classroom
Becoming confident and super smart
Having a loving heart and vast imagination
Along with being leader of the class.
Crush My Dirty Little Heart
Once a powerful prince or prim princess
From an ancient and magical fairytale
With sparkling blue eyes and a glass of white wine
With royal standard and expensive clothing
And with an air of timeless elegance
But soon that classic facade crumbles
Soon the handsome prince
Soon the yellow dressed pretty princess
Change their faces into the truly ugly:
Changing those quirks into the unpleasant
Threats and annoyance
Immaturity and insolence
Being a vicious and selfish spoilt brat
Rather than that exotic being
Rather than that mature charisma
They soon to hiss and spit
Their once clever fake image to fade
Their once alluring angel eyes
To become hard and grey and angry
Their hairstyle now only predictable
They lie and cheat
They have blood on their hands
They play tricks and games
They play nasty and vicious games
They play dirty: criminals their name
A relationship with such a person
Leaving scars on my dirty little heart
Leaving my face bruised and drowning in tears
Leaving me to wallow in never-ending fears
My trust of others destroyed
Not having realised my boyfriend
A narcissist: close to psychopathic
Traits I blame myself for not seeing
Me having just been his meat
Not knowing his hatred of me so deep
I could never date such a person again
My eyes colder with their viewpoint
Knowing not all it seems
Knowing people fake it to make it
Knowing some people only desiring power
Through all the violence, tears and fears
That will last throughout the years
And leave me broken inside
Where I now only have lost pride
When it comes down to the root of it
Just wanting to run away and hide
Wishing I hadn't been so gullible
Wishing I had never apologised
Wishing I had never changed myself
Wishing I had been my own boss
But I had been young and foolish
I had never believed myself gullible
I had never looked to my soul within
To learn to understand myself
And forgive myself for my mistakes
My personal power down the toilet
My beneficial boundaries and strengths
Suffocated like being dressed in several
Unnecessary winter jumpers by the devil
As if I can never find a solution
But there is an easy solution:
Learning to love myself
Learning compassion and grace
Feeling gratitude for what I do have
And painting canvases like rainbows
For I see vast imagination and hope
Looking at the sky when the rainbow appears
Showing angels watching over us
Like a driver safety navigating the road
As excited passengers board the bus.
Guiding Me Along The Right Path
An unknown holy force guides me
Unattainable money waits for me
But not blood money:
Money that is instead made from wisdom
And following the wise rules
Of the holy God above
Important factors guide me:
Respect, passion, wisdom
Unselfish heroic happiness
Unselfish kind love
That does guide me from above
My guardian angel feathers falling
In a scattering on the ground
God having sent my guardian angel
To show me he is always there
Not telling me what to do
But warning me before I tempt the devil
And make a terrible mistake
I wake every sunny morning
I drink my caffetterie coffee
I eat my muesli with milk
I thoroughly shower to wake up
And put on stylish and elegant clothes
I wear practical - yet top designed - shoes
I travel on the exciting bus
I travel on the packed train
I travel on 21st century airplanes
I travel by fast electric cars
I travel along the river or sea by boat
I travel up high by cable car
I come home after my working day
I take off my hard working shoes
I change into comfortable lounge clothes
I prepare and eat my HelloFresh dinner
I tidy and clean my kitchen
I watch television for a few hours
I love the intricate and vibrant Internet
I love reading my library books
I love going to my enjoyable book club
I love watching YouTube music videos
I love watching YouTube animals videos
I love painting pictures at valuable art classes
I even travel abroad:
Knowing how to speak basic French
How to navigate the New York subway
Also loving going to Germany and Spain
Walking underneath the hot sun in Lanzarote
And spending time in warm Greece and cold Ireland
I go to church every Sunday morning
The priest's sermon one hour long
The forgiving church where I belong
Telling the priest in private confession
The mistakes I have made:
Where I've gone completely wrong
But I do not play the martyr
I do not preach the holy bible
I simply allow myself to be guided
Along the difficult path known as life
Time inevitable but also necessary
For as I grow older I know God waits with love.
