FLESH VS. SPIRIT

Have you ever sat alone multiple nights fighting spiritual demons with biblical prayers in the dark beside your lamplight? Have you ever noticed that the flesh of man’s vessel is not evil yet, smiling faces will deceive you; therefore, a smile on a man’s face doesn’t reflect how his heart truly feels.

They said, The cat is dead.

I said, She looks alive.

They said, Tears are strength.

I asked, How long will she survive?

They said, She’s beautiful!

I said, What about beyond her flesh?

They said, Lets continue the pain by separating the mind from flesh.

I said, She is young in age and her spirit is something like wine.

They said, We are children of sin, so her worth, we will keep blind.

I asked, What good is life, if in the end she looses her soul?

They said, This is evolution, we all have choices, and she decided her road.

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY

Who lies in the balance besides negative for the hopeless sinner?

Who treats the misguided soul to dinner?

Who shows love to the un-welcomed when he or she enters?

Who finds patience to understand the miss understood?

Who goes out his or her way for a stranger, when no one else would?

Is mankind spiritually blind wandering on land?

Who was taught time is of the essence?

Who truly embraces a sinner’s hand?

A broken prayer with no faith will never revitalize change.
