TREAT YOURSELF!

Covid, the negative political climate, crime and high cost of living seem to have paralysed most South Africans into living in a state of zombie-like limbo.

The public seems to be stuck in the mindset of that awful time when, clad in grey tracksuits and masks, we stocked up on tinned food and wrestled over packs of toilet paper in supermarket aisles.

Last week I walked into one of my favourite clothing stores, which happens to sell beautiful, unique, locally designed and produced garments. Every blouse, skirt and dress is a reflection of such extraordinary, local creative talent and craft.

I admired a beautiful shirt-dress from all angles but left without it. My head was still in that Covid-coma.

I’ve woken up this morning with a fresh outlook. I’m off to purchase that shirt-dress I want. I deserve it after the many months of penny pinching –
