Introduction
Through the evolution of the world there have been changes of all kinds, our way of thinking and our relationships have also changed, not only among human beings but also between humans and animals. Just a few decades ago, many pets were suffering terribly from negligence, abuse and exploitation, among other things. There were places in which the families didn’t have a clear sense of responsibility, these people only thought how to get economic benefits with animals. Some owners do not use preventive cares such as sterilization, vaccination and deworming; because, in those times, veterinary care costs were very expensive and there were just a few of them, especially in communities with medium or low incomes, so it was hard for them to spend money in pet’s health because it was not a priority choice, those are things for rich people
they said.
They also believed that animals did not have emotions, feelings, intelligence, or even soul. This way of thinking procured to these lovely creatures much suffering in their lives. On the other hand, the great use and abuse in their bodies forcing them to procreate as many times as possible to make great business with puppies, the lack of attention and no periodic medical reviews culminated in the development of diseases that ended with their lives, most of the times at an early age.
As the years have passed, fortunately we have seen noticeable changes in the way we see and treat a pet. This is very good because it means that we have been sensitized and we have taken the time to look at them closer
and realize that they are neither insensitive nor irrational not without mentioning that they have great intelligence and personality.
It is well known today by professional coaches that the development of intelligence in any animal is a result of a loving foster care by the owner; that is, when you are treated with dignity, respect and love. This also strengthens the ties between the human and the pet, and creates confidence, security and the development of a unique and own personality.
However, there are cultures that simply do not conceive that the behavior of an animal could be out of the standards considered as normal
. This can lead to some degree of fear, which creates reactions of aggression and violence.
This book intends to show four lives from different pets that lived at different times: Sparky lived at the beginning of the 80’s, Claudio was born in the middle 80’s, while Giacomo lived at the end of the first decade of 2000’s and Thumbelina was born in the middle of the second decade of the 2000’s.
In each of the stories we will see very different ways of treating a pet and you will be able to appreciate different behaviors, emotions and characters in each one of our protagonists. The only constant in all of them: the gratitude and loyalty to the human being.
Regardless of the gender, breed, size or shape of an animal, we could look into their eyes and discover the purity of their souls and feel their unconditional love, we could write an entire book for every one of them, full of teachings for us humans. Animals can give us lessons on how to go about live without complications, and drama. No matter how hard live experience may be, they will always face challenges with great attitude towards live.
I am sure that, if you’ve ever had a pet, you also have a great story to tell the world.
