    Elemental Magic - Yagnesh Lakhani

    Chapter 1: The Gift

Tanu woke up early on her twelfth birthday, her heart beating with excitement. Today was the day she would discover whether or not she was one of the Gifted Ones, the chosen few with magical abilities. She sat up in her bed and looked around her small room, adorned with posters of famous wizards and magical creatures. She had always felt a pull towards the world of magic, and today might be the day she finally got to enter it.

Tanu quickly got dressed and rushed down to the kitchen, where her parents were waiting with a small wrapped box. Happy birthday, Tanu! her mother said, beaming. We're so excited to see what your gift is.

Tanu tore open the wrapping paper to reveal a small necklace with a small crystal pendant. As soon as she put it on, the crystal began to glow, and Tanu felt a strange energy coursing through her body. It's beautiful, she whispered, feeling a mix of awe and fear.

Her parents exchanged a knowing look. It's time to take you to the school, her father said. You'll finally get to understand your true potential.

Tanu's heart fluttered with excitement as they set off for the school for Gifted Ones. As they walked through the gates, she couldn't help but marvel at the grand buildings and enchanted gardens. She felt a strange sense of belonging wash over her.

As Tanu made her way to her classroom, she noticed that the other students were already sitting at their desks, each with a small element symbol on their desks - earth, air, fire, and water. Tanu took her seat at the desk with the water symbol, feeling a strange sense of calm wash over her.

The teacher began the lesson, explaining that the Gifted Ones were born with a connection to one of the four elements, which they would learn to control and harness over time. Tanu listened intently, feeling a deep sense of wonder and excitement as she learned about the powers that lay dormant within her.

After class, Tanu's classmates started chatting excitedly about the upcoming exam, where they would be tested on their abilities to control their element. Tanu felt a pang of nervousness wash over her. What if she couldn't control her element? What if she failed the exam?

Over the next few days, Tanu threw herself into her studies, practicing controlling her water element and reading everything she could about the other elements. She even stayed up late to sneak a peek at her textbooks, eager to learn more.

Finally, the day of the exam arrived. Tanu felt her heart pounding in her chest as she entered the exam hall, where each student was given a small vial of their respective element to control. She closed her eyes,
