With the help of Weeeli, an elfin girl, Oliver devises a plan to help resolve the stalemate and bring peace to the bickering factions.

Chapter 1
A Special Day

adding to its intrigue.
Oliver’s Grandma’s house was in the middle of the woods, a long way from any other house. Driving up the long lane to her house were old oaks, maple, poplar, white pine, beech, hickory, elders, and elms, all trees that Oliver had learned to identify. He enjoyed going to Grandma’s house.
It was his birthday, and Oliver’s Mom had promised they would have a birthday party for him. She also said it was important to first go to Grandma’s house to celebrate because it was his tenth birthday. Oliver was fine with the arrangement because it gave him two birthdays and besides, he always loved to come to his Grandma’s house. However, he wondered why his tenth birthday was so important.
Driving up to the house, Oliver was always struck by how spooky the house looked. It was made of unpainted wood and ivy grew up all over the front of the house. It had two stories, and a screened-in porch in the front and the back. Oliver noticed a small window that must have been
