The shiny, bright skeleton key from Grandma held a mysterious aura, with the engraved word Oddman adding to its intrigue.

Oliver’s Grandma’s house was in the middle of the woods, a long way from any other house. Driving up the long lane to her house were old oaks, maple, poplar, white pine, beech, hickory, elders, and elms, all trees that Oliver had learned to identify. He enjoyed going to Grandma’s house.

It was his birthday, and Oliver’s Mom had promised they would have a birthday party for him. She also said it was important to first go to Grandma’s house to celebrate because it was his tenth birthday.
