Preface
Oh honey, as we know - perimenopause and menopause are no joke. It's like a secret club that nobody tells you about until you're smack dab in the middle of it, wondering what the hell is happening to your body and your mind.
When I first started experiencing symptoms of perimenopause, I had no idea what was going on. I was hot and sweaty one minute, then cold and shivering the next. My mood swings were out of control, and I felt like I was losing my mind. I went to my doctor, hoping for some answers, but all I got was a shrug and a prescription for antidepressants.
That wasn't enough for me. I wanted access to medicine that would actually help me, not just mask my symptoms. And that's when I started exploring the world of microdosing psilocybin.
I couldn’t believe it but, it was a game-changer. Microdosing psilocybin helped me manage my anxiety and depression, improve my mood and overall sense of well-being, and connect with myself and others in a way I hadn't experienced before. It was like a lightbulb went off in my head - this was the medicine I had been searching for.
Here's the thing - nobody talks about this stuff. Nobody tells you what's going to happen during perimenopause and menopause, and nobody gives you a roadmap for how to navigate it. So, I decided to write this book - to share my story, my experiences, and my learnings with other women who may be struggling with the same issues.
