About the Author
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that the person who is reading this book will know the grandeur of who You are at a greater level. I pray that they will put their whole confidence and hope in You no matter what type of life situation comes their way, knowing that there is no problem greater than You. Holy Spirit, I pray that You will have Your way and minister to them in every area of their lives, knowing that You are with them, guiding and embracing them every step of the way. Lord, I pray that the words of this book will inspire them to go forth being who You called them to be. When in doubt and if they feel that situations are too harsh to handle, allow them to know, Father, that victory lies within them because You are by their side. Help them, Father, to arise above all circumstances. I pray that they will recognize that You have called and anointed them with purpose for such a time as this. May this book be a blessing unto them. Thank You, Lord, that You hear and answer this prayer, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Acknowledgment
I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge my wonderful husband, Johnny, my champion and my best friend, whom I love with all my heart. I want to say thank you, honey, for being by my side, embracing me, loving me, and comforting me throughout this season in my life. You have uplifted me, prayed for me, and reassured me that everything was going to be alright. You've poured out so much of you for me, and for that, I am very grateful. Thank you, love, for all you do for it will never go unnoticed or unappreciated. You are a blessing in my life, an angel in disguise. I love you forever.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Amy, my beautiful and wonderful daughter. Amy, you are such a precious gift and blessing in my life. Thank you for always wanting the best for me and for cheering me on. You always encourage me to continue forth with what I'm doing. God always uses you in my life in so many beautiful ways; you are so precious to me, and I love you with all my heart.
I also want to take this opportunity to say thank you to Michael, my wonderful son, for having such a caring and beautiful heart. You are such a blessing in my life. You are such an encourager who always wants to bring the best out in others. Thank you for your conversations and your hugs, prayers, and your beautiful words toward me. You are precious to me, and I love you with all my heart.
Most of all, I want to take this opportunity to thank my heavenly Father, my Rock, and my Savior for saving me, guiding, and protecting me. You, Lord, have orchestrated my steps, and I am forever grateful unto You. Thank You, my Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit; I wouldn't be here without You preserving my life and instructing me through it. I couldn't have written this book without Your guidance, grace, and inspiration in my life. I am forever thankful and grateful, and I love You with all my heart. Thank You, Father, for blessing me with such a beautiful family who loves me beyond measure. Thank You, Lord, for all You do and all You have done and all You are about to do in me and through me, but mostly, thank You for being a loving and gracious Father. I thank You, love You, and worship You all the days of my life.
Chapter 1
While in the Storm
I want to start by saying that through this season of life, the pandemic and the different changes in this world, it was a very difficult time for all of us. It was a sudden change that none of us expected or any of us saw coming. It has taken us all by surprise. The number of people getting sick and the fatality was so horrible. The shutdown worldwide, countless people losing their jobs, and the crime rate and injustice were too much to fathom. The pandemic quarantine wasn't a dark time in this world only, but I also went through a dark season in my life. I want to be transparent in what I've gone through because it's only transparency and honesty that can set a person free. It will free you from all the wiles of the enemy (devil) and from any conflicting voices that will try to manipulate your thoughts.
I don't want to be the type of person that walks around life giving others the impression that just because you are a Christian, you are unsusceptible of going through life's bad or dim days. I went through different changes spiritually and physically. While seeing everything going on worldwide, hearing the news continually during that time, even while praying, unknowingly, I opened up the door to the spirit of fear that only led to anxiety, oppression, panic attacks, and depression. It was the most horrific experience in my life.
