Praying with Poetry

I was born to two wonderful Irish parents on a cold winter morning in a small town. They raised me with good moral values.

While in high school, I began to write poetry and made cards for the love of my life. His name was John McQuiston. We were wed two years after we graduated. Our love was truly a match made in heaven. Little did I know I would become a widow at age twenty-three. Tragically, he was the victim of a senseless crime. I gave birth to another baby boy shortly after my husband died, so I had two boys to raise.

My family was very loving and supportive. I never remarried. My love for John was so strong, and my love for Jesus has carried me through all my years.

Recently, I've been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write Christian poetry. I hope you like the poems I have written, and I pray that Jesus will speak to your heart.

Dedicate Your Life to the Lord

Glory be to the Lord whose Love is devout,

without which we could not do without, for

the sun shines on us all, and

the rain covers the fall.

The tall trees bend at His command,

and we tremble as we stand;

in awe of His Supreme Majesty,

giving way to our eternity.

And all the faithful will proceed

as we fill our neighbors' need,

for we are all called in Jesus's name,

and His Love treats us all the same.

So let us all be thankful to the

Lord above for His

abiding and undying Love.

Jesus Comes to Us

As the morning glory needs the sun

so must we rise to meet

the One who

made us and the flower

of hope; turning toward

Him, we surely will cope.

With this life we live and

with all the blessings God will give,

it sets our heart aflame

as we remember why He came.
