About this ebook

Glen Kehr is sixty-one years old and a bachelor with no children. He lives in small-town America, New Paris, Indiana, with family and his beloved dog, Jacky Boy. He's a custodian at a high school. He's a Christian of twenty-eight years and a recovered alcoholic of twenty-seven years. He spends time on Facebook with family and friends. He loves music, especially Southern gospel, and likes to sing along. He would like to be a songwriter but doesn't play an instrument. His hobbies are reading the Bible and Christian literature every day, and now writing his first book––a book of Christian song poetry inspired by God, the Trinity, the Bible, and Southern gospel songs.

Friends say he has an amazing talent for writing, but he says God gets the credit, that he just has the pen of a ready writer. He says he, too, is amazed at what God's given him to write. He decided to have the book published at the encouragement of his friends. He wants God to be glorified and people to be blessed by it, and if by chance the book doesn't sell, he still has the blessing of being a child of God's kingdom. He's looking to have a long, happy, and prosperous, working relationship with Christian Faith Publishing.

This book is dedicated to my sister Ellen Higginbotham who is struggling with ALS disease.

We're Poetry in Motion - Glen R. Kehr

    Are You Redeemed?

Are you redeemed, if not, today is the day

Jesus is waiting, just call on His name

He wants to save you so you can be free

He came from glory to die on a tree

    (Chorus)

God’s hand of mercy came to me from His throne

And now I can say I am one of His own

Grace changed my heart as I knelt at the cross

Now I know in my place His suffering and loss

I’m redeemed; I’ve been washed by the blood of the Lamb

I’m redeemed; I’ve been adopted by the great I Am

I’m redeemed; Jesus saved and then called me out

I’m redeemed; I’m so grateful it makes me want to shout

    (Chorus)

God’s hand of mercy came to me from His throne

And now I can say I’m one of His own

Grace changed my heart when I knelt at the cross

Now I know in my place how He paid the cost

If you’re redeemed, you obey Him as savior and Lord

If you’re redeemed, by the Spirit, you’re learning His word

If you’re redeemed, you’re gaining in His holy wisdom

If you’re redeemed, in Him you have real freedom

Are you redeemed, if not, just call Jesus by name

Don’t wait any longer; today is your day

    Be True to Jesus

Because Jesus is love, He’s the best man among men

Be true to Him, your friend among friends

He’s always there to heal a broken heart

Always there to mend a life torn apart

In a moment, He’ll wash a sinner white and clean

Or take a loved one home to their heavenly scene

    (Chorus)

Jesus gave up eternal glory, gave up His royal crown

He died to do His Father’s will with joy and not a frown

They pierced his side upon the cross, His blood came flowing down

And purchased our redemption as it stained that Holy ground

Life’s a great adventure when Jesus comes along

The battles that we face will make our faith grow strong

It’s prayer without ceasing and rejoice always

And don’t let the rocks and stones steal our praise

    (Chorus)

Jesus gave up eternal glory, gave up His royal crown

He died to do His Father’s will with joy and not a frown

They pierced His side upon the cross, His blood came flowing down

And purchased our redemption as it stained that Holy ground

We must be true to Jesus; He has given us so much

Let Him play us like an instrument with His masterful touch

He’s our tower of strength, the true Rock of ages

The revelation of the Father written on the Bible pages

So it’s prayer without ceasing and rejoice always

And don’t let the rocks and stones steal our praise

    Behold Jesus

Behold Jesus––the Babe who was born of a virgin

God’s unique Son unlike any other men

In a manger He was laid

    Shepherds and angels proclaimed

He came to redeem mankind from our sin

Behold Jesus––our Savior, crucified between two thieves

They nailed His hands, they pierced His feet

From noon till three it was dark

The temple’s veil was torn apart

Death died and we’re set free because of that rugged tree

    (Chorus)

Behold Jesus—Behold the Lamb, Son of God, Son of man

Crucified, He was crushed by His Father’s own hand

    He said, It is finished

    And gave up His spirit

Because of His offering, in awe we stand

Behold Jesus––the Lion, He’s our great stronghold

He gives us His strength so in speech we are bold

He puts His enemies to flight

    With heaven’s power, His might

His victories all the prophets have foretold

Behold Jesus––our Lord, raised from the dead, He’s reborn

He rose from the grave on the third morn

He walked out of the tomb

    Left that cold empty room

We’ll celebrate with Him when we reach that golden shore

    (Chorus)

Behold Jesus––Behold the Lamb, Son of God, Son
