Love and Faith and Beauty

I began writing poetry in the early eighties. The Lord inspired the majority of my poetry. I would be awakened around one a.m. with a poem in my heart and mind. I could not go back to sleep until I wrote it down. I keep and paper and pen close by . Sometimes I write on scrap paper on table napkins. Whatever is available whenthe poem comes to me. I began to feel I should publish my poetry as it began to come in the darkest hours of my life. I was having financial problems. My father had passed on leaving me to care for my sister who was disabled for life and I became disabled to work. Then went five years without an income. It was hard. Then on my fifty-nineth birthday I had surgery for breast cancer. During the time i was taking chemo, my sister passed this life. I have had cancer twice since; but the Lord whom I serve and write about has brought me through. I never thought once about turning away from Him and I grew stronger in my faith. I always claim the Scripture I can do all tings through Christ who strengthen me. I pray those who read my poetry will be blessed and encouraged.

GOD GAVE US ALL

God gave us beauty to behold;

Trees so green and skies so blue.

LOVE IS

Love is what we all desire,

A place around the family fire.

Love is a feeling deep within.

One that flows out to a friend.

Love is kindness peace and joy.

A feeling of being without alloy.

Love is beautiful and sweet and pure.

It will be forever here.

Love is giving to a friend in need.

Perhaps just a word or some kind deed.

Love is something we all should have.

If all were love there would be no hate.

Love isn’t made by human hands it was sent from God to man.

Love is the greatest thing in life.

When you have love it lessens strife.

Love is being true to God.

Waiting for his final call… Love Is.

LOVE

Love is forgiving when you know you’ve been done wrong.

Love is caring for others less fortunate than you.

Love is never asking what for me others can do.

Love is bearing the load of responsibility.

Love is lending a hand to those in need.

Love is sharing a smile and a song.

Love is a prayer all day long.

Love is knowing that you belong.

Love is giving to God and to man.

Love is the greatest gift of all.

GOD CARES

God cares for me this I know.

He goes with me wherever I go.

He gives me strength when I am weak.

He gives to me those things I honestly seek.

God cares for me this I know.

He is always near when I am alone.

He is with me even when I am wrong.

He guides me every step of the way.

God cares for me this I know.

He lets me walk in valleys low.

He lifts me up on mountaintops.

He is my rock; my everything.

GOD GAVE US ALL

God gave us beauty to behold.

Trees so green and skies so blue.

Grass so green and beautiful lakes.

Birds flying about in colors array.

singing songs only He could give them.

Mountains and flowers and meadows and grass.

A sweet aroma flying through the air.

The sun and moon and night and day.

Fish and animals everywhere; even

the animals have their place.

God gave us all their beauty to behold.

The butterflies and hummingbirds as they feed on the flowers.

The rain and the snow; the lightning and the thunder.

All for a reason and all to a season God gave them all.

BLESSINGS OF LOVE

Blessings of love come like showers from above.

Blessings of love flow like a river; when we are not

takers but cheerful givers.

Blessings of love blow like the wind; when we accept

Jesus and turn from sin.

Blessings of love shine like the sun; when we know God

gave His only Son.

JESUS IS COMING

Jesus is coming very soon to rapture His children home.

He will come on a cloud as the Eastern skies open wide.

The trumpet will sound and the skies wide open will burst.

Jesus will step forth in all His glory; with Him a host of angels

When Jesus returns I would like to be sitting in the cemetery; if alive

I should be.

I want to see the graves burst open, especially those of my loved

ones who have gone on before.

Twill be a glorious sight as they transcend in robes of white.
