    PREFACE

My dear child, I want you to know that I am with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you. I am for you. I knew you even before I formed you in your mother’s womb. I took delight in putting all the right pieces together when I formed you: your amazing and unique individuality, your smile, your personality, your gifts and talents … everything about you. You are My creation. You are My handiwork. You are Mine.

    Your Heavenly Father

If you are reading this devotional, it is because the Lord wants you to have hope. Oftentimes extremely difficult childhood experiences leave us feeling hopeless or discouraged, and we feel stuck and can’t imagine a future. But God wants you to look up and know that you are His child and you belong to Him. He wants you to know that you are loved and that you are not alone. He wants you to know that although others may have rejected you, He hasn’t rejected you, and He never will reject you. He wants you to know that no matter what it looks like, no matter what you’ve been through, you can make it.

The fact that you were born is no accident. You are God’s creation, and He created you on purpose. Your life has purpose. It’s been said that life’s disappointments can become divine appointments that lead us to God. So keep looking up. God’s got a plan for your life.
