Words are like the blood that courses through my veins. Without words, I would not be who I am today. There were many along the way that said I would never make it, however one I met along the way believed in me enough that he gave me the courage to follow my dreams. My mom, one of my biggest fans and cheerleaders until her last breath, always said I would get here, and here I am! My Reminder of Self

It's a day like many others,

sunrise, sunset-

breakfast, lunch, and dinner,

do this and that,

go here and there,

remember what has to be done,

But somehow, none of it

seems very important.

I think I'm gonna

take today,

for myself...

I'm gonna look myself

in the mirror,

and give myself

a pep talk,

reminding myself

of self-worth,

I'm gonna give myself

"right hand-left shoulder,

left hand-right shoulder,

and squeeze"

A hug for the day-

Just to remind myself,

to love me-

and follow my heart

to the rainbows end.

Just Ramblings-

I've written

many words on this page,

erased them and started over.

none of them right,

none of them wrong,

none of them make any sense.

I try to capture a feeling

of despair-helplessness

but the words just

don't add up to the feeling

in my heart.

This overwhelming feeling-

all I want-

"stop the world

and let me off"

I ask those around,

I remind them,

I am but one

one lonely girl,

my life is running away,

I need a break,

one day with nothing to do,

no one but me to think about,

is that really too much to ask?
