About this ebook

In this daily devotional, LP English provides a simple way to make God a part of your everyday life. LP was born in the South and is of the south. She is a mother, wife, sister, daughter, entrepreneur, friend and, most importantly, a child of God. She shows us that "Southern" isn't a geographic location as much as it is a state of mind. A place where love, family, friends and challenge all revolve around a belief in a power greater than all of us. A couple of years ago, LP noticed that many busy Christians tended to be caught up in three things: - A lack of time to devote to their spirituality - A wariness regarding the formality of "religion" - A longing to feel closer to God in a familial way "Happy Sunday Y'all," is an easy, comfortable way to untangle from these. It provides a short read for each day of the week, with a more in-depth thought each Sunday. Try it. No matter what part of the world you might be in, this book will bring you closer to God and the way God asks us to live our lives. And who knows, you might even feel just a little more southern! Happy Sunday Y'all.

    Foreword

    Dear Readers,

I wrote this book in a specific format for a reason. We all lead busy lives. Monday through Saturday, our lives are filled with work, school, children, and other responsibilities. We are a busy society. But Sunday, it seems we usually slow down a little bit. So what I thought might be helpful is to have something for you to read during the week that was a reminder of how most of us want to live our lives. But because we are in a hurry, it needed to be a short reminder, just a little something to get our foot off on the right track before we head out the door for the day. And then on Sunday, you might have a little more time for a more complete message to help you bring living with God closer to a reality.

I know so many people who call themselves Christians and they do all the right Christian things. They attend church every Sunday, place money in the offering plate, sing with the choir, or help in the Sunday school classes. But when that time is up and they have done their Christian duty for the week, they leave that building, go about their busy lives, and don’t really think or incorporate the lessons from Sunday into their everyday living.

So my hope is to have a quick reminder all week that we are all God’s children. That every day, we should open our eyes with gratitude and walk out into the world looking for the messages God sends us all the time. Incorporate what you spoke or sung about on Sunday into each and every day of your life.

So please use this book as a tool to help turn your Sunday morning, feeling into a Happy Sunday Y’all every day of your life.

    Blessings,

    LP English

    Happy Sunday Y’all

Don’t forget to bow your head in thanks for all the blessings He has given you.

So here we are; our first Sunday together. I thought we would begin by telling you about a goal I have set for myself.

In the coming year, and all the years that follow that I have left here on Earth, I want to become a better daughter. I lost my biological father when I was nineteen. He took his own life after dealing with mental health issues. After that, I was very bitter. I hurt others. I let others hurt me, and carried that pain around with me like a badge, never letting go, never seeing any real kindness or love. And then one day, I looked up and saw my real Father, the Father that loved me through all those years, the one who forgave me for all the wrongs I had done, and the one who still loved me. What I learned is that He is not only our Lord and Savior, He is our true Father, the one who will never leave or betray us, the one who loves us when we need it the most, and the one who considers us His children, beaming proudly when we do well, and comforting us when we fall. We all have bad, sometimes horrible things we have been through. But if you ask our Father for help, love and understanding, it will come. So, my goal is to be a better child to my Father...and yours.

    Monday

The question is not if you will start.

    The question is if you

    are willing to finish.

    Tuesday

It’s easy to have a positive

outlook when things are going well.

But to keep your faith in God during

    the bad times, well that

is when you find out who both

    you and God really are.

    Wednesday

    Gratitude works like a magnet.

    It draws blessings to you

    in abundance.

    Thursday

    You are brave enough.

    You are strong enough.

    You are smart enough.

    You are enough.

    Friday

When you recognize and thank God daily

for the little things in your life, that is

when He knows you are ready for the

bigger blessing that you so richly

    deserve.

    Saturday

    When you find yourself praying

more for others then you do

    for yourself, you will then

know that your life is heading

    in the right directions.

    Happy Sunday Y’all

Don’t forget to bow your head in thanks for all the blessings He has given you.

I want you to do me a favor this week. I want you to look around and take note of the people you hang out with. Who are your friends? Do they all look like you? Do they dress like you? Do they go to the same church? Do they live in a neighborhood like yours, eat the same kind of foods you eat, have the same traditions you have? If so, if that is who you have surrounded yourself with, then I believe you are missing out.

God put us all here on this earth. Some He made with darker skin because they live closer to the sun and the pigment in their skin shields them
