The Prayers of a Businesswoman
()
About this ebook
The Prayers of a Businesswoman was written by a twenty-seven-year-old wife and mother pursuing her dreams to become a successful businesswoman while caring for her family and keeping faith in the word of God. The author, Latisha Weaver-Bennett, intended to reflect on chapters from Joyce Meyer's daily devotional Trusting God Day by Day. Latisha had always admired Joyce Meyer's work and has read many of her books since she was only fourteen years old. Within each chapter, Latisha talks about the daily struggles to become all that she feels God put her on this earth to be. She shares her deepest thoughts, ambitions, and desires in hopes that her life experiences and epiphanies will spark some truth and wisdom for anyone seeking to find their true life's purpose.
Latisha started writing this book in March 2013, roughly six months before starting her now potentially multimillion-dollar company, La La Love Healthcare LLC. The Prayers of a Businesswoman started out as just a daily diary containing Latisha's secrets to creating a company that, eight years later, has positively affected hundreds of people. This book was the foundation and the strength that Latisha needed to pursue her dreams. Her main goals were to find the tools to take care of her family, to be a blessing to others, and, ultimately, to create a life that would be pleasing to God. What better and more effective way could Latisha care for her family, be a blessing to others, and please God than to start her own home healthcare business? Latisha's life and legacy is a wonderful example of God's grace, His mercy, and His many, many blessings!

About the Author
Introduction
I, Latisha Weaver-Bennett, plan to write in this journal every day, reflecting from Joyce Meyer's Trusting God, Day by Day daily devotional book. I plan to express my deepest feelings and grow stronger and much closer to God by doing so. I pray that I can become a better person for my family and for God. I pray to be all that God made me to be, and I pray that this book helps me to do just that. In Jesus's name I pray, amen.
I want to dedicate this book first to my Father God. He has given me the desire to want to write for Him, to not only help others, but to help myself to grow spiritually in the process. I want to be a warrior for God, and I know that through my passion for writing and telling my story, I can begin to do so.
I also want to dedicate this book to my husband, my best friend, and my backbone, Trinell. He helps me to be strong and to remind me that God loves me enough that He did not want me to carry on with life on my own. He wants me to share my life with someone who truly loves me and always believes in me. He wants me to know that He will always have someone to be by my side to protect me and make me feel safe, someone to raise my children with, and someone who I trust with my life!
I also want to dedicate this book to my three beautiful children. Marcellis is my eldest, who is twelve years old now and almost a teenager—so smart and kind—my firstborn, who has been with me through my spiritual journey since day one. I gave birth to him when I was only fifteen years old, and it was when I read one of my first—the first—Joyce Meyer books that brought me closer to God.
Enjoying where you are on the way to where you are going.
I tried my best to raise my son, my baby boy, at such a young age, although I was just a child, a baby myself. This spiritual connection I had with God and with this woman named Joyce, who had also been through so much in her lifetime, made me stay strong and confident in being the mother that I knew I could be for my child.
I also want to dedicate this book to my second born, Elijah—the angel child, the baby that I believe was meant to be here because he was named after my dear brother Elijah, who was killed in a car accident at the age of only twenty years old. I was pregnant with Elijah at the time, and, not knowing the sex of my baby at the time of my baby brother's tragic death, I told myself that I would name the baby after my brother if I were to find out that he was going to be a boy. And yes, he was. He was my angel child—my child that, I know, was meant to be here and was meant to be named after my dear brother Elijah.
And last, but certainly not least, to my daughter—my precious, precious daughter, Elaijah, the daughter I prayed for, and the daughter the Lord blessed me with. I believed in my heart that because I obeyed God, He chose to bless me with such a beautiful baby girl—the only child of mine not born out of wedlock, my blessing, and my gift from God. All my children are gifts from God, but she was an answered prayer.
This book is overall dedicated to my little family—the family that God blessed me with because I always wanted a family to call my own—my husband, my two sons, and my daughter. I hope and pray that I can and will make them proud by just being the best person, mother, and wife that I can be, that God made me to be. I want this book to be a steppingstone to give me the confidence to write even more and dedicate many other books to many other important people in my life.
I pray that this book helps someone to develop the confidence that I developed when I read my first Joyce Meyer book. I pray that many women, men, girls, and boys will learn that the love of God and the love for people are all you need to be all that you can be in this world. I know in my heart that someone will be blessed by my tests and by my testimony! I know that someone somewhere is waiting to hear my story that will bring them at least just one step closer to their destination. I pray their destination is in the hands of God, every day of their lives.

What Makes You Happy?
I delight to Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart. (Psalm 40:8)
On the first day of my reflection on Joyce's day-by-day devotional reading, she asks, What makes you happy?
The first thing that comes to mind is my family, doing things for my family, and shopping for my family and for myself. The list goes on. But as I read her devotional for today, I ask myself, What is true happiness without the love of God? What is happiness without obeying and trusting God? Joyce says, There are many things that make me happy, but I have found obeying God is the number one thing that makes me happy—maybe not right away, but always in the end.
I believe that is certainly true. We all may want to do or feel things that makes us happy right away, but sometimes, the things that will make us truly happy and at peace may not seem that way at all at first. This is where trusting God, no matter how you feel, comes into play. God knows the long-term outcome to every situation that we face every single minute of every single day of our lives. He wants to guide us to our destination, and He also wants us to enjoy the journey. And the only way we are going to enjoy where we are on the way to where we are going is if we are trusting God the whole trip, even if the ride becomes bumpy and scary.
Just think of when you were a child riding in the back seat of your parents' car, and you may have felt afraid or overwhelmed that you didn't know where you were going, and that it may have taken a long time to get there. When you finally arrived, you were relieved, and the fear was gone. You knew you could trust your parents to keep you safe and get you where you needed to be. If you have never had that chance to feel safe in the hands of your parents or someone you knew loved you, then I challenge you today to trust in, believe in, and obey God's word! It will guide you, protect you, and get you exactly where you need to be. Although the journey may feel scary because of the bumps in the road,
