About this ebook

Years ago, devout Christian Gwendolyn Wilson Diggs thought shed been forgotten by God. While waiting in line for a life purpose, she felt skipped over. Others members of her musically inclined family sang or played instruments, yet she did nothing. Then, during a particularly dark period, she sat down and screamed, God, what do you want me to do? His response: Spread my Word and proclaim the gospel of Christ.

Diggss A Place of My Own to Give God Glory offers forty devotions, each illuminated by scripture and inspired by God. By putting God first and seeking His face, Diggs discovered her true purpose; since then, she has been filled with the joy and peace of Christ, and she seeks to spread His Word to the whole world. She artfully combines life experiences with scripture, turning each devotion into applicable lessons for your Christian walk, with included journal sections for personal reflection.

Proverbs tells us, In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. God is waiting for you to walk at His side. These daily devotions will encourage you to view your difficulties from a Christian perspective. All of your questioning will reveal your purpose. God does hear you, and He wants you to hear His voice. All it takes is daily devotion to Him, and never forget the most important thing in life: Give God Glory!

    Acknowledgments

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths

(Proverbs 3:6). Putting God first and seeking His face is the inspiration and guiding force for these devotions.

Thank you to my family and friends for allowing me to share my thoughts, for reading my devotions, and for providing unconditional love and support. Having family and friends who believe as I do, that all things are possible, contributes to my constant motivation to write about the awesomeness of God.

A special thank you to Alice Perrey, professor at Saint Louis Christian College in Florissant, Missouri, for your friendship and support.

    Preface

The Lord said, Spread My word and proclaim the gospel of Christ.

All my life, I have marveled at the talents of others. The mesmerizing saxophone player performing before large congregations, the soul-stirring soloist causing people to stand and rejoice, and the preachers and missionaries standing before a crowd flawlessly delivering God’s inspiring word have caused me to wonder what happened to me. I come from a large family that is gifted musically. It’s no secret that I can’t carry a tune. This fact has been shared candidly by family and friends over the years. However, I have made several enjoyable attempts to play the saxophone and the clarinet.

With limited musical talent, I screamed to the Lord and asked what do You want me to do, show me my purpose. This was my constant song and prayer. I would repeat over and over in my head and heart, I don’t know my purpose. Others around me were moving forward, exercising their God-given gifts. Everyone continued to tell me that I knew what I was to do, but really, I didn’t have a clue. I asked them to tell me, but they would not share what God placed in their spirits. They would always say, It’s better to let the Lord lead and guide you. I became increasingly frustrated because I never seemed to see or hear what God was saying.

Again, while attending a Saturday prayer chat meeting, I was told that I knew what God wanted
