Introduction

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

—John 1:1

I would like to introduce you to my Lord and Savior, the one who is my rock and enables me through his spirit to do his will as well as give me the desires of my heart.

The subject at hand is demonic spirits. We’ll define some of these spirits; we’ll see the many ways Satan brings these evil forces into our lives that causes havoc, harm, and turmoil. We’ll see how our Heavenly Father has given us, the followers of Jesus Christ, his holy spirit by casting out demons, laying on of hands, and praying.

I am so grateful God has allowed me this opportunity to write this book; without him I can do nothing. It will open hearts and minds to the truth, for the truth will set you free.

For all nonbelievers: I pray God will draw you near to him so that you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior; only then will God pardon your sins and you shall have eternal life (John 3:36).

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: We should know we’re to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). For nothing is greater than love. Therefore let us remain faithful and continue to do the good work which we were so boldly and fearlessly called to do.

What a glorious day it will be to see my savior face-to-face and hear him say, Well done, thou good and faithful servant.

Opening Statement

As you read this book from beginning to end, it’s imperative that we know God gave Satan power and allowed him to rule the earth (read John 19: 10–11), but Jesus overcame the power of Satan by the cross. So if we believe Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we too can and will overcome the power of Satan.

Thanks to my Heavenly Father for my parents and to my mom who birthed me into this world. I thank God for putting his spirit in me and directing my path along this journey. To my children, Colette and Cary, I’m thankful for the heartache and joy you brought into my life for I was able to relate and deal with the pleasant as well as the undesirable situations. Because of them, I was able to gain resources and facts that I needed to write this book.

To my ex-husband, my stepdaughter, and stepson for having such humble hearts and teaching me about forgiveness. To my grandchildren and brothers whom I pray for constantly. To my nieces and nephews, I hope you will always stay on that straight and narrow path.

Definition and Intent

An evil spirit is sometimes known as the spirit of Satan, something that is morally bad or wrong. In the New Testament, they are called unclean spirits that possess and affect a person’s body and mind, a persistent force that can torment or engross you into evil and undesirable activities. Demons have no mercy on their victims; their mission is to seek and destroy those they are attacking. It’s no different than when you’re at war with someone. To sum it up, these evil forces impact our minds anytime with undesirable thoughts and cause us to do unrighteous and harmful acts to ourselves and others. Jesus said in Mark 9:40, For whoever is not against us is for us. He was telling his disciples not to stop anyone from driving out demons in his name. There are many kinds of demonic spirits; Mark 5:9 confirmed this when Jesus asked the evil spirit, What is your name? He replied, My name is legion for we are many.
