About this ebook

Have you like millions of Christians around the world believed that any Bible version is the pure, inerrant, and perfect Word of God? As Christians, we all hold to the fact that God's Word, the Holy Bible, is the final authority of what we believe and practice as Christians. However, if you discovered that the Bible you are reading and believe to be God's Holy Word has complete verses missing, and that it removes the blood atonement of Jesus, questions His deity, deletes the Trinity, and then adds and subtracts words that completely changes the meaning, would it upset you to discover that you had been deceived and lied to? The Truth About The TRUTH is a must read for all Christians. This book will challenge you in many ways and yet provide solid evidence that there has indeed been a huge ongoing deception concerning the modern bible versions. Here are a couple questions to ponder: Does your "easier-to-read modern bible" contain only the truth, or has it been corrupted with verses missing and words added and deleted, which change the meaning of God's Word? Are you willing to apply 2 Timothy 2:15 to find out? Challenge yourself and "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth."

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to the One who has saved me by His gift of faith and by His amazing grace. I love Your Word, Lord Jesus Christ, and I am dedicated to defend Your Word for Your glory only. Thank You, Lord, for allowing this old sinner saved by Your grace to offer up this sacrifice of praise to You and Your Holy, Perfect, Inerrant, and Pure Word.

This book is also dedicated to my beautiful, precious, and godly wife, Jackie, who faithfully has supported and encouraged me throughout the writing of The Truth About The TRUTH. She has encouraged me to stay prayed up and humble before the Lord. Her prayers, discernment, input, and biblical advice has encouraged me as I have labored to produce a work that I hope will change the lives of millions. Thank you, Bebe!

    Preface

Over the past forty-nine years of being a Christian, I have come to truly love reading and studying the Word of God in-depth. In 2 Timothy 2:15, we read: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ¹

A serious study of this verse clearly indicates that we as Christians are called to do more than just read the Bible. We are to study God’s Word to show ourselves approved (worthy) as a workman who is not ashamed because we did not gain the wisdom and the knowledge of God’s Word that we could have obtained had we really studied the Bible, and not just read it. We are supposed to train ourselves to be a child of God who is able to correctly (rightly) divide (separated out) the truth found throughout the pages of God’s Holy Word for ourselves.

Sadly over the years, I have discovered that the Christian Church as a whole is missing a lot of God’s truth. Millions of my brothers and sisters in Christ have been deceived and are totally unaware of much of God’s truth due to their own lack of personal biblical study. Far too many Christians depend solely on the teaching from the pulpit or the Sunday school teacher. Few study the Bible for themselves. This is truly and absolutely heartbreaking for me as a teacher of the Word of God.

In addition, over the past thirty years, I have seen the Church leadership in a lot of local churches, regardless of the denomination, who have failed miserably to disciple (teach) the flock. In spite of the Great Commission to go and make disciples, there seems to be little to no weekly training in the majority of the churches today on how to study God’s Word for oneself, let alone on how to apply God’s Word in our personal lives.

Most sermons today in our American churches are made up of a make me feel good, don’t rock the boat, entertain me message with the majority of the congregation saying, Do not preach anything that makes me feel uncomfortable and be sure get me out by noon. I need to go out to eat.

This kind of ignorance, along with the lack of teaching and discipleship, has left millions of Christians unarmed against false teachings found not only within the walls the Church itself but also on Christian TV, on radio ministries, and in many popular Christian books. If this were not enough, the ignorance goes to the depth of the sincere misled belief that any Bible version out there is God’s Word simply because it has the title Holy Bible on the front cover.

Many church members, including pastors, teachers, and even some Bible college and seminary professors feel that the different versions of the Bible simply make it easier to read and understand. I hear so many Christians say: All Bibles versions are the same. They all contain God’s Word. However, I must ask: Do they all contain all of God’s truth? Have you ever taken the time to really study the issue and find out for yourself?

Millions of Christians have no clue that they are being or have been deceived and misled by damnable heresies. You hear Christians say, I read it in my Bible, so it has to be true. However, I must ask you, the reader: Does your Bible contain the truth or some form of truth? Does your Bible contain some truth while at the same time removing important doctrinal truths that are the very foundation of our Christian faith?

The Apostle Paul warns us several times in the Bible, Be not deceived. If the Bible warns the Church not to be deceived, then it is very possible for us all to fall into deception. Otherwise, why would the Holy Spirit, the author of the Word of God, have told Paul to warn us so many times about being deceived?

I am reminded what the Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:1–3.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." ²

Paul further warns us in 2 Timothy 4:3–4; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.³

Before we look at the next warning about being deceived, let me help you understand the term itching ears. The word itching in the Greek text literally means to itch, scratch, or tickle. In other words, today many church members want a massage rather than a message. They want sermons that please them instead of sermons that challenge them to grow, repent, and change to be more Christlike. They want pastors who entertain when they preach rather than pastors who educate. Sadly millions want sermons that please their ears instead of sermons that preach the truth.

When someone has itching ears, that person believes what he or she wants to believe instead of the truth. These kinds of Christians decided for themselves what is right or wrong, and so then they look for a pastor or church that supports their beliefs. That is why there is so much church hopping today. Most Christians in the Church today want to hear what feels good and comfortable. They do not want to hear the truth. why? Because God’s truth makes them convicted to change, repent, and grow! It is like the old joke: How many Christians does it take to change a light bulb? Change? Why would we change? We have always done it that way!

With that in mind, let’s look at another warning in God’s Word concerning deception. Peter also used by the Holy Spirit warns us in 2 Peter 2:1–4:

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious (evil) ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And thoroughly covetousness shall they with feigned (false) words make merchandise of you; whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (Parentheses by the author)⁴"

Now I have to admit that I too was deceived over the years by trusting only what I was taught by my pastor, teacher, a Christian book I had read or what I heard on Christian radio and TV. I believed that what I was reading and hearing was the pure, inerrant, and perfect Word of God. It was not until 1995 when I was a Sunday school teacher in a very spiritually dead Methodist church that the light came on, and I was awakened to see the deception myself. I was shocked and deeply ashamed!

I was teaching the class that day that we could trust the Bible and what was written in its pages. In that particular class, there were about twenty-five people with some six to eight different versions of the Bible. At the time, that did not matter to me. A Bible version after all was a Bible version, and they all contained the truth of God’s Word, or so I thought and sadly believed.

However, on the day that I was teaching the class on how we could trust the Bible and what was taught in it, I came to a shocking realization that I had be deceived, lied to, and misled. Not that my past pastors or my teachers nor the authors of the Christian books would have purposely deceived me. However, there was clearly a deception going on.

As I continued teaching the class that day, there were several verses I had chosen to use to help the class understand how trustworthy the Bible was as we read it. To my shock and dismay throughout the entire class time, people keep saying things like: My Bible does not have that verse. My Bible says something completely different. My Bible has some of the words of that verse, but the rest of them are missing. My Bible added this to the verse, and it does not seem to mean the same as everyone else’s Bible.

Talk about being ashamed! I was mortified and ashamed as a teacher of the Word of God that I did not have an answer to why the different versions said completely different things and yet all had the title Holy Bible on their covers. It was at that moment as a serious student of the Word of God, I decided it was time to study and find out why all these versions were saying different things in the same verses and why verses were in some versions and missing in others. This drove me to study this issue for some twenty years.

After much study, prayer, and research, I came to the conclusion that I had indeed been deceived. But it was not by pastors, teachers, or authors of Christian books. It was Satan and his kingdom of darkness that had perverted the Word of God. I recalled throughout my studies Paul’s teaching in 2 Corinthians 2:17, For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Further in 2 Corinthians 4:1–2, Paul wrote: Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Paul further tells us in 2 Corinthians 11:12–13: But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion; that wherein they may glory, they may be found even as we. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Clearly, Paul is telling us there are those who are working on Satan’s behalf to spread the corruption of God’s Word. This too was a shock to me. Yet a truth I could not deny once I had seen the deception and underhandedness for myself.

My studies further showed that this perversion of God’s Word started from the fall of man and has spread over the millenniums even to this present time. I just could not believe what I was learning as I study to show myself approved. I wanted to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God! And He did! God’s Holy Spirit, the author of the pure, inerrant, and perfect Word of God, did His job in teaching me all things. This is why I have written this book. Actually, I should say, I wrote this book because God led me to write it.

As a Christian pastor, I know in my heart that there are some wonderful God-fearing pastors, teachers, evangelist, and authors of Christian books who are not the enemy but are themselves victims of this deception by Satan and his kingdom. Yet I also sadly know that there are men who hate the Word of God and have and are purposely corrupting the Word of God for financial gain and are themselves wolves in sheep’s clothing.

My hope and prayer is that as my brothers and sisters in Jesus read this book that they will see for themselves the deception and awaken others concerning this lie that has been perpetrated over the millenniums.

I ask one thing of anyone who reads this book: Please, do not believe a word I tell you. Let me encourage you to: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I am not the final authority on this matter. God’s Holy, perfect, inerrant Bible is the absolute Final Authority! Trust His Word, not mine. I am fallible. He is not. Once you have made up your own mind trusting only in His Word, then I ask you to please share what you have learned with others so the deception will not spread any further. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus and for His glory!

    What Is Truth?

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

    —John 17:17 (KJV)

Since the fall of man, there has been an ongoing millennium after millennium deception concerning the Word of God—a deception which has reached down even to this current age plaguing the Church with corrupted versions of God’s Holy Word.

The above statement is either the truth or it is a lie. It cannot be both. Such a bold proclamation as the one above could cause some people to question the wisdom of the author and reject his opinion. However, such a statement could also cause others to prayerfully consider and research for themselves to see if it is true or false.

Things stated, written, or believed are either true or they are not true. There is nothing in between. The real challenge here, to any serious Bible student who seeks for and also demands the absolute truth concerning Biblical matters, must be to take the time to prayerfully consider such a statement. If the above statement is indeed true, then there could be some disturbing consequences to the Church. However, if it is not true, then most certainly ignore the author, his opinion, and move on.

However, one must ask: How important then is such a statement to the sincere Bible student? The fact is that whenever deception or corruption (fraud) is present, the absolute truth is absent! This should deeply concern the earnest Bible student and committed Christian. Every Christian should acknowledge that with the absence of absolute truth, corruption raises its ugly fraudulent head, and human minds easily become deceived, affecting the lives of those who do not and cannot discern truth from error.

The very nature of corruption encourages those in the Church who refuse to discern and believe that there is corruption to fervently deny that there could be any deception and corruption in the modern bibles of today. Yet the true and inerrant Word of God is very clear, that there are those who actually refuse absolute truth and are content with their own truth about the truth.

"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of God of uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.⁹"

I once heard a pastor say to me: I just want to pick up my Bible regardless of the version, read it, and believe it. I do not want to compare versions to see whether or not they agree or disagree. It is a waste of time to compare Bible versions. God can speak to a Christian through any Bible version through the Holy Spirit. With that said, I must ask this question, and I strongly believe it is a question worthy of consideration and one that demands an honest answer.

Is the Holy Spirit the author of corruption, the author of confusion, the author of deception, the author of half-truths, the author of some truth and error mixed? Answer: Of course not! The Holy Spirit is the author of the absolute, pure, inerrant, never-changing, never-added-to-nor-deleted-from Word of God! The Holy Spirit cannot be both the author of corruption and the author of truth and be still be God, let alone be truthful to Himself. The pure and inerrant Word of God is clear: "God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" ¹⁰

Here are a few more questions to consider. If a Christian is reading a book with the title Holy Bible on its cover and that book has entire verses missing, words added and/or removed, and doctrinal truth questioned or changed, is that Christian reading a Bible authored by the Holy Spirit? How can God speak to a Christian through a Bible that has corruption and truth mixed? If there is truth and error
