About the Author
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
—2 Timothy 4:7–8 (KJV)
The above scripture is the basis of this book and would be constantly referred to all the way.
Apostle Paul had a life, a wonderful life that he lived through to the end, and he knew convincingly that it was a life well lived to the fulness of God's purpose. He was sure he lived worthy of receiving honor from God for a life well spent.
Paul indeed understood what life is and the principles by which he could excel in it. This is what this book is all about. It may not be voluminous; by the grace of God, it is devotional, reviving, inspirational, and life-changing.
This book aims to reveal life's inalienable and indispensable qualities that can enhance, shape, and produce the desired energy and abilities that will give you divine charisma to run your race successfully to the end, end that will culminate in eternal bliss—hence the title The Sockets of Life. Life is all struggles. It's full of pains from conception to birth and from birth to death. Surprises and confusion spring up daily. Acceptance and rejection may come simultaneously, making it hard to trust in this earthly life. Everyone seeks the way out. Even with advancements in science and technology within our reach, life issues remain unfathomable; hence, crime, sickness, disease, and death are rampant. Yet, in the heat of it all, the purpose of God for humanity remains the same. I'd instead that you study this book than just read it. Make it a handbook. You'd be glad to discover how lifesaving it is.
At the end of each chapter are prayer points that can help you stay on the course and revive you without a doubt. Even after reading this book, the prayer points will ever remain helpful each time you say them, spending at least two to three minutes on each.
I pray that your understanding and horizon be broadened as you practice what you read from this book and that you'll begin to live a more meaningful, purposeful life than ever. I passionately believe that you're about to experience life generation that will cause you to visualize life as simple and sweet, the same way God intends it, culminating in eternal bliss.
Chapter 1
Listening
Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do
