About this ebook
The reason I titled the book "Those Good Old Days" was that it seems those days are no more. I know times change but seems some of those times would still be. Lots of times I'd love to go back to those good old days but can't. But they are etched in my memories. I pray you enjoy the book.

Don’t fail to correct your children; disciple won’t hurt them! They won’t die if you use a stick on them! Punishment will keep them out of Hell. About this one verse, they taught us this verse early in life and thank God they did.

Acknowledgments
To the memory and love of our mom and dad, other family members, cousins, grandparents, and all. I know my brother and sister will agree with what I’m fixing to write. I want to thank our mom and dad for the way they raised us, what they taught us about what life was about and how to live it. We never had much, but in the ways that mattered, we were very rich. Everyone knew my dad by Buck, Mom was Nell, Sister was Uldene, but we called her Dene, Brother was Ronnie, and I was Buddy. I want to say from myself, I want to thank God in heaven for my mom and dad, brother and sister because they were the tops, and I was truly blessed to be a part of the family. Also, I want to say thanks to my brother and sister for helping me with the book. Now I wrote it like we remembered the times back then. I would also like to acknowledge my grandson, Bryce Buchanan, whose photo appears on the front cover taken in the cotton field.

My sister & me.

My mom’s = dad & mom.

Introduction
Lately, I’ve been thinking about my younger years with my family and kin—not only the good times that we had but also the bad. We were raised in Olanta, South Carolina, near a farm that was owned by my mama’s dad, Robert Pigatte. This farm consisted of cotton and tobacco. I was born in 1946; my sister was two years before me and my brother a year after me.
After so many years, we moved in 1954, to Walterboro, South Carolina, where I’m still living today. My brother is right down the road from me. Our sister lives in St. George. But for now I want to go back to Olanta.
Up till the time we moved, we worked in cotton and tobacco and did all that was to do with it—from planting to picking. Now for the cotton, our granddad would buy the cotton seed from the company where
