Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
—Luke 10:19
Introduction
The body of Christ today, though it has common grounds, but it has numerous subjects that cause divisions. One major subject is deliverance for God’s children. Some say God’s children do not need deliverance while some say deliverance is essential for God’s children.
In the book of Matthew, chapter 15, verses 21 to 22, we were told about a woman of Canaan who sought the help of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s read, Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
Please note what the Bible says. It says, Grievously vexed with a devil.
Whenever the Bible uses this statement, it means the condition is more than just being sick. For example, bringing the sick folks and them which were vexed with uncleans spirits
(Acts 5:16).
Though the specific condition of the child wasn’t stated, but fewer probable conditions may include, lunacy (insanity or mental illness) in Matthew 4:24, lunacy (epilepsy) in Matthew 17:15, and bent spinal cord in Luke 13:11. Others include depression, suicidal thoughts, unconsciousness and sudden outbursts, and so on.
With the unrelenting spirit of this woman, Jesus Christ replied and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread and to cast it to dogs
(verse 26).
From the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, we can deduce two (2) facts: (1) deliverance is a bread
meant for children, and (2) God’s children are meant to appropriate the bread (deliverance).
Still on this matter, I think the best question to ask is does God’s children need healing? If the answer is Yes, then without any reservation, deliverance is a bread, which God’s children need.
If God’s children who were bound with diseases like cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, reproductive diseases and on could deem it fit to call for healing prayers, then the call for deliverance has been made. This is because every disease has its root in the demonic world. To bring about effective healing, unclean spirits behind the disease must first be dealt with. This is the basis of deliverance.
Having said this, it’s pertinent for us to know the three (3) levels of deliverance:
Deliverance from demonic possessions
Deliverance from demonic oppressions
Deliverance from demonic afflictions
I shall be explaining these three levels of deliverance in this course of this book, but please let me state it here that this book will elucidate more on the second and third levels of deliverance. At this juncture, I would like to clarify that every infirmity is not a disease or sickness, but all these are infirmities.
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight
(Luke 7:21).
But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities
(Luke 5:15).
All believers have infirmities or weaknesses of various kinds but not necessarily sickness and diseases.
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to Please ourselves
(Romans 15:1).
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself [himself] maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered
(Romans 8:26).
In a nutshell, infirmities speak of the feebleness of the mind and body, malady, frailty, sickness, disease, and weakness. This book shall be devoted to all forms of demonic afflictions, sickness and diseases, and demonic oppressions.
The Bible says, He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions
(Psalm 107:20). I want you to know that this book you’re holding or have laid before you isn’t only meant to bring you to the revelatory realm of deliverance from the spirits of infirmities, but it’s actually a mantle through which God’s healing and deliverance power will flow into you and establish a great miracle.
It’s my prayer that you have an unprecedented encounter with God’s truth, which carries the power of liberation from all wickedness of the wicked in Jesus’s name—He hath shewed his people the power of this works
(Psalm 111:6).

The Root of the Spirits of Infirmities
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
—2 Corinthians 4:6
The source of spirits of infirmities is what everyone should know with unreserved conviction. Without knowledge, Satan takes undue advantage and put even spirit-filled believers in captivity. I tell you, ignorance is a deadly tool of Satan. The Bible has this to say: Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst
(Isaiah 5:13).
Ignorance has no respect for persons. The scripture above told us that even their honorable men are famished.
In this context, I can boldly say that even those who have been in God’s kingdom for decades are shackled by ignorance. They have been held bound by the spirits of infirmities because of ignorance.
Paul, the apostle, understood the monumental havoc ignorance could wreck on a saint. This is the reason he prayed for knowledge for the saints: The eyes of you understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
(Ephesians 1:18).
Why am I speaking about ignorance? The reason is simply because the majority of God’s children think God is the root of infirmities. They think God is glorified in their bondages and body afflictions. You hear such things as everything comes from God and so God is the architect of this diseases am nursing.
Beloved, I can boldly assert here that God is not the root of the spirits of infirmities. When it comes to His obedient children, God doesn’t put sickness and diseases in their bodies. When a child of God is afflicted with the spirit of infirmity, certainly, God is aware of it but not the architect behind it.
This fact must be established in the mind of every believer. If Satan should have gripped the mind of a man with his lies and deceptions, then he has enslaved such a man. Such a man will be living in bondage and will languish in excruciating pain and grief yet have the mind-set that God was the one who planted the spirit of infirmities in his or her body. That is why the Bible says, And be renewed in the spirit of your mind
(Ephesians 4:23).
The mind is like a switch in a room. When the switch is on, it gives light to the whole room, but when it goes off, the room is in darkness. Darkness harbors all kinds of evil things. The works of darkness are usually perpetrated in the dark. Hear what the Lord Jesus Christ said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders: Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness
(Luke 22:52–53).
What does this mean and how does it apply to what we are discussing? The chief priests and the captains of the temple and the elders couldn’t carry out their operations in broad daylight. Christ said, When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me.
That means that when it was in broad daylight, you couldn’t carry out your wicked operations.
This is your hour and the power of darkness,
Jesus said. This means that in the nighttime, when there is no light, but darkness is the time to do evil work. This tells us that the works of evil are carried out in the darkness. Let me use this illustration to further explain my point.
There was a time I went into our storehouse. In the store, we have all kinds of old and unused properties. When I entered inside the store, I could sense the movements of rats, cockroaches, and other insects. Because there was darkness in the store, these creatures were having a nice time moving around and, thereby, carrying out their destructive works. The moment I switched on the light, they were running helter-skelter, looking for an escape. Light took away the darkness and expose the creatures working in the darkness.
When the mind is renewed and soaked in the power of knowledge, light is turned on and whole life is transformed. That is the Bible says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
(Romans 12:2).
Understanding God’s will concerning a subject is pivotal before any miracles can take place: Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is
(Ephesians 5:17).
Knowing the personality behind infirmities is important. This is the highway to deliverance. It’s ignorance to think that God is the one who plants the seed of infirmities in the body of His children. The word of God warned us, Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices
(2 Corinthians 2:11).
God or Satan?
Who exactly is the root of the spirits of infirmities? In this teaching, I would like you to hold on to the truth as it’s revealed in the Bible.
Prove all things, hold fast that which is good
(1 Thessalonians 5:12).
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown
(Revelation 3:11).
But that which ye have already hold fast till I come
(Revelation 2:25).
The only thing that makes men free from the web of lies and deception of the enemy is truth: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free
(John 8:32). Who exactly is the root of infirmities? God or Satan? The answer is Satan. Let us examine the following facts to establish our points.
God only blessed man at creation and never cursed them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it
(Genesis 1:28).
Good health or life that’s free from the spirits of infirmities is a blessing. If the Lord Jesus Christ could heal folks from the spirits of infirmities, that means that the spirits of infirmities are not a blessing, and if not a blessing, then they’re curses.
God didn’t create evil. We were
