About this ebook

Why did I write this book? How could I not write about living with a ghost, my late husband, who haunted me for twenty-four years!

In his real life, He changed the way we live! But as a ghost, he never acknowledged that. It wasn't important.

This book will keep you awake at night. It is incredible, utterly chilling and horrifying at times, and real to me and many others!

And you are others will learn from this, that there is another life after our earthly death, and there is a greater being who makes this possible!

    I’ll Come Back!

If there is any way I can come back and protect you, I will. OMG!

Those were the words spoken to me by my late husband, Ed, in 1990. True to his word, for the next twenty-four years—yes, twenty-four years—he has been with me! He has haunted me, my family, and close friends, terrifying me, being angry with me, addressing me, and scaring me beyond belief! Believe me, I am not trying to convince anyone of these haunting. It is just what happened to me!

Perhaps I should give you a little background before I begin to tell you how frightening, scary, and unbelievably terrifying it is to live with a spirit for the next twenty-four years!

We were in the car, driving from Richmond, Virginia, to our home on the river, seventy-five miles away, near the Chesapeake Bay. Being January, it had recently snowed, and the overhanging tree branches were heavy with silvery snow. It was a gorgeous sight.

He said to me, I guess I’ll never see this again.

You see, we were just coming home from the hospital in Richmond, where Ed had just had a radiation treatment on his lungs. He had recently been told he had inoperable lung cancer. I could not say anything. What does one say when you know the one saying that is dying? The silence hung over us.

We were home about a week when Ed began to have pain in his chest caused, I think, by the radiation. I immediately called his oncologist, who told me to take him to the hospital in Richmond. I was in a hurry, so I just threw a warm-up suit in the suitcase and drove to Richmond.

For the next week, I spent twenty-four hours a day in the hospital room with Ed. Every night, I would take off three gold bracelets I wore all the time and left them in the bathroom. One morning, I could not find them. I reported it to security, and every day, Ed would ask me about them. I told him not to worry, we had other things to think about.

During the night, Ed would, unknowingly, try to remove the tubing the nurses had put in him. I was unable to get any sleep during that week. My family couldn’t come and stay because of jobs and children. Finally, in tears, I called the oncologist and pleaded with him to do something!!

    He did!

I was finally able to hire a nurse for the night, while I went to my son’s house to get some rest. The next day, I planned his funeral with the church and returned to the hospital.

Ed was smiling when I walked in. He said he was feeling great and had slept all night. I looked at the nurse, and she quietly shook her head. She told me quietly the doctor had put him on morphine, which I did not learn until later that it takes oxygen from your lungs.

That day, there were dozens of visitors to see Ed. There were so many I could only allow a few people in at a time. You see, Ed was well-known in banking circles, but that is another story which I will not cover here. He changed the way people lived. I’ll tell
