About this ebook

This book doesn't offer riches or fame; it offers happiness, love, joy, and lightness of spirit. It's your private journey into your soul. We spend so much time caring for our bodies and mind but very little time on the most important part of our existence that will carry us into eternity. All the goodness, badness, and memories are packed into our soul until revealed on judgment day. What are you carrying within your soul? Does sitting cross legged, repeating a mantra, and staring into a candle not work for you? Separating the soul from the mind and body takes effort and quiet contemplation. Follow this query method to discover hidden secrets about yourself and clarify your values. In return, you will remove burdensome residue from the depths of your soul and begin to experience more joy and lightness of spirit than you ever imagined possible.

    Introduction

My desire for writing this book was out of a two-prong concern over events happening today. When I started this project, I found the writing came easily to me, time demands fell away, and resources were plentiful. I discovered this project to simply be a work of love and joy.

My first concern is over the large number of books, TV talk shows, movies, and documentaries popping up all over the media about persons who have had death experiences. I am thrilled to see them and have read most of them, but I am troubled by the message conveyed. I fear that too many receivers of these stories will conclude that death is an easy passage to the kingdom of heaven. Their impression of these events might be as such: All I have to do is profess my belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, and walla, I will be in heaven upon my death.

Granted only by the grace of God can you enter the kingdom of heaven, but once you become a Christian, you are filled with the desire to grow, learn, and serve. James 2:14&17 says it best: What does it profit, my brother, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? Thus faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

The profession of faith is merely the beginning of a new life’s journey. If it becomes too difficult to get out of bed on Sunday mornings to attend church, how great is your faith?

I, too, had a death experience at the age of eighteen—an event the details of which I will reveal in various sections throughout the book—but this is not the main emphasis in this book. What is missing in these beautiful stories of death is the importance of the true Christian spirit that dwells in each and every being. Should a person profess the faith in words but not practice the belief on a daily basis, will that person be worthy of heaven? The haunting words of James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also may make you pause and think.

Until you practice your faith on a regular basis, can you really claim yourself a Christian? Once you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, you will want to walk daily in the knowledge of His presence with prayer, learning, compassion, service, love, and joy. Paul writes in Colossians 1:10 (NIV), And we pray this in order that you may live a life of the Lord and may please him in every way bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.

My other concern is the infrequency in which we attend to the development and healing of the soul/spirit. The soul is the only part of our essence that enters heaven, should it not be as pure as possible for the entrance into this glorious place? Think of it as our only suitcase packed with the goodness, badness, and memories of our lives that we can carry with us. Granted, this statement will cause some scholars to question what passes on to heaven because some individuals believe a body form and/or mind also enter the kingdom of heaven. They may be right. Who has the authority to settle that discussion?

It is said by others that an unexamined life is a hollow shell of life. True. So may this book of introspection into your soul give you realizations as to how to better live your life for the glory of God. Many books are available to guide you to a more meaningful life, but the question is a meaningful life the only goal? As my granddad might say, You are barking up the wrong tree. A better question would be How can I live a life worthy of entering the kingdom of heaven?

This book doesn’t offer a pathway to wealth or a high position
